Thanks, that is similar to what I was going for, but I hadn't thought it all the way through..It definitely helps to see it written.

some pic updates:
I am still balancing the heat/humidity back and forth, I think that will be like this for the next week until the parts for my humidity setup are complete. heating the room is dropping the humidity down to 70 when it's on and the v400 just can't keep up with that. so its a learning curve and frustrating at that, but there will soon be a light at the end of the tunnel.

This log, I attempted to fruit out of the bag, but due to the conditions not being optimal it is drying out and not having any significant growth since it was removed from the bag.

Those pinks can be tempremental as all hell. I had a hell of a time growing them and came out with small measily fruits from both BRF cakes, and 50/50 Coir/coffee grounds mix.
One thing I noticed is when you expose the entire surface area of your substrate to fruiting conditions you get a LOT of small pins that abort or never get that big. In the future personally I plan to poke holes in my substrate bags to allow pinning to start in a few places only so that more biological energy is forced into those fruits instead of distributed across 200-300 fruits.

I find I have better results by leaving the bag on for the first flush but I use much smaller bags.
I've also cut slits down the bags so the pinks grow in rows. Works well.

Great advice guys!
After everything gets dialed in better, I will try the longer slits and see how that goes.

Good luck Ozzy.
...and, again, thank you for sharing!
I have some Oyster (some weak Pink spawn on straw right now) and the Oyster that a kind member found and sent out on agar*, and so I am benefiting from this and other related threads.
Good luck!

just a quickie update.
I just picked up the new drums. they were 26 apiece with the FDA food coating applied.. I picked up the plastic drum originally from uline and that 1 barrel alone cost me 75 bucks . The two closed ones will be made into additional pasteurizers to speed the process some. I should be able to do 9 logs at a time with the size of my bags in two hours where on the first run it took me 6 hours plus pr olly another two or three to remove and dry the separate batches.
I chose the steel drums this time as when the plastic went through a few runs the element seal started to have a very tiny leak due to the warping of the plastic and I wanted to avoid that hassle.
This is the website if anyone is curious, it is the cheapest I found drums anywhere around. steel drums

I appreciate the link.
I am just thinking about larger scale pasteurization, and will need a larger vessel for my Agar-type bulk humidifier too.
Take care,

I just ordered from the link in Agars thread. mainland mart
I ordered this one and the bouy for it
http://www.mainlandmart.com/dk12l.jpg
I forgot to order the 30 gallon container in agars setup, I asked them to get one in for me they said they would call when it comes in 15.00 bucks.
Also, just hung the logs as some of the pins were coming in on the rack and damaging them. It was a good thing too as I discovered a log with some trich that was up against the wall

That fogger is a beast!
I will probably want a timer that will do minute intervals if I get anything that large.
Good luck with the Oysters.

Sad news all, 4 more of the bags had a hint of the green, so I chucked em.
There is still 2 that look good and I think will make it to the end of the process, I hope.
The problem was exposed grains on the straw up against the bag.
All the specks of green were on the grains, not yet on the straw, but green is green, so i got em out of there.
The bags circumference did not lend well to placing the grains in just the middle, I certainly had some overspill to the sides while packing. I just got off the phone with uline and have 18 inch bags coming instead of the 12 inch that I originally ordered, this should help solve that problem.
In any event, I will still get a meal for me and my friends, and I learned a lot about managing my new space and setup.
The parts for the Fae and humidity will be here early next week, and the next 100 jars will be finished colonizing sunday, so really, I'm out 2 weeks and 60 bucks(the cost of materials for the grow). at least it's an easy loss to stomach.
Onward and upwards from here.

I'm sorry to hear about your lost bags.
Also, I have a few questions about your grow room.
How did you attach the plastic to the walls? Would the wall between the plastic and the concrete mold due to humidity?

The outside wall has 2 inches of space between the plastic and the wall, that should be plenty fresh air to keep things down.

Thanks Evil, It is almost there, I expected some failure when the bags were colonizing, but I was hoping that it wouldn't be this many.
ah well.

K guys, I still have 3 logs going, I am hoping that with the new fogger, I'll be able to provide the right temps and humidity with less effort..
It just got here and is producing copious amounts of mist.
  ,
I'll hook it up tomorrow between shoveling the 15 inches of snow that we will be getting..lol
