Just for clarity:
it burned her face pretty bad, she is in a lot of pain emotionally and physically. She feels really ugly.
She lost a lot of hair and has burns all up her face. no eyebrows swollen lips. she looks hideous to be honest. She has basically written herself off as already dead.
I hate seeing her in this condition. it is emotionally draining to continue to go see her.
*You've already been emotively lured into feeling sorry for this girl. At no point before this have you thought the op wasn't feeling anything except the same.
Also we have not had any physical relations since the accident.
*The turning point. You've already been reeled in and here is the clincher.
I am considering breaking up with her. Her best friend has been hinting at getting with me and I think i may break up with her to get with her friend. I dont want to sound shallow but recovery for her seems unlikely.
Thoughts?
poor effort

I don't really see what is so blatantly "troll like" about this. Just because it seems somewhat unlikely? so what? My brother just got out of the burn unit, and my dad's friend is a severe burn victim, it happens. And thanks #12 for backing me up on this, cuz you play the little troll game and you're no better. Basically I would put my priority for helping people far above my priority for being right, and honestly if this kid is a troll then I hope he feels like a douche, but hey thats the world, there are douche bags out there, but I would rather not become one by being so worried about em

Right on.
If this is a troll, he probably feels self-righteous actually, but don't worry, therein lies his prison of not acknowledging the truth as it looms ever close to him.

here's what you need to consider tho kid, if this is real-what are your motives? what do you really want here? I understand that its a draining situation, but its supposed to be hard, you have to accept that. how long were you in the relationship? I mean if you were about to get married or something thats way different then if you went out for a month. Imagine if this girl was perfectly fine, would you break up with her? If its only because you don't see anything in it for you then you're being a dick, if its a genuine thing separate from the burn then go ahead with it but be fucking careful about how you do it

Well he basically said that he was planning to break up with her before this happened, so I have to assume this is a false relationship based on mistrust juxtaposed against a lot of attachment and dependency.
So, in the long run, it's definitely better that he move on and save them both a lot of trouble. HOWEVER... given the circumstances, it would be good form to wait as long as you can for her to get her head straight before dropping this on her. This would give her more time to heal emotionally from the last blow before receiving the next.
OP, get her in therapy instead of shrooms.
The best thing about trolls is that we're given a pretty legitimate life circumstance that COULD happen to any of us to contemplate. That's good philosophical and spiritual fodder. They give us an opportunity to consider and express how we feel about unusual and taboo subjects. That's a very powerful and healing thing, because most people harbor a lot of fears about unusual and taboo subjects and this brings the issues to the forefront where they can be dealt with.
It's really kind of hilariously ironic... because as soon as someone chooses to pursue self-awareness and self-education over self-aggrandization and ego defense, all of the trolls tactics "invert" on him and what he thought was a 'fast one' that would 'waste people's time' turns out to actually become great learning experiences for those with an open demeanor that are willing to learn from everything life has to offer.

You need to get her pregnant and have kids with her. Then stay together for the sake of the children.

I would say you need to stick with her for a little while, try to get a little deep with your conversations, like about her life and how she feels about it and stuff, then maybe when she's out of the hospital and everything, slowly ween it off. Whatever you do though don't just start neglecting her rather than break it off, that will put you both in an awkward situation and won't make anything better.
fuck you ur a troll

my lady and i have a mutual agreement if this sort of thing were ever to happen. we would understand that the other person would have to move on with life; but should try to work on maintaining some sort of friendship.

This story was very plausible until OP added the "I want to bang her best friend" idea.
On the 2% chance that he really is considering this, remember that the darkest depths of hell are reserved for traitors.

sleep with her friend, sleep with her mom, who cares, just don't breakup with her and string her along on a little thread of hope until she gets better or dies, cuz its not really ur concern, you just don't want to look like a dick....JK I think you know what is right in the back of your head but you struggle with whether or not you really want that
