I'm sorry but if a 250+ lb jacked dude grabbed a smaller dude there's no way the little guy is gettin out alive (no hate to martial arts btw, I have a friend who does Kung Fu and I think I'm gonna do a free trial class. The mental aspect sounds like it would be good)

Some people just don't feel it's necessary to put in the time. But because I don't want to get huge is a pretty dumb response, you can workout just to get strong.

Yeah. Big guys are actually really easy, if you know how to fight.
Everyone has weak points. I'm 150lbs, and I might could take a 250lb guy. It really depends. He would have 'armor' but there are certain points of the body that just aren't covered.
His legs would be a major weak point probably. He's carrying a lot more weight than I. I could move faster, for the very same reason.
Solar Plexus would be another major weak point, muscles just don;t cover that area very well. Plus when you lift weights, you are working out the major muscles, but leaving the minor support muscles behind. (usually) that is one way that I could manipulate his balance, and you the opening to make a hard strike to a critical area.
That leaves you will a lot less control than you think you have. Plus your arguing about fighting with people who know a hell of a lot more about it than you do.
The hardest person I have ever fought was about 70 years old, and I was far stronger than him. He was literally playing with me.Quote:

Here's the thing. that is pretty much the only thing that he can do. His range would be absolutely miniscule. It would take literally nothing at all to stay outside of his reach.

what? that only happens if you do something like preacher curls. If you don't use machines you work all the muscles.

You missed the neck, and the eyes. Takes even meth hulks down. Too easy to lose consciousness or awareness to the surroundings when struck in the neck.
Collapse his leg inward and you could drop him and tear his knee
Big muscle doesn't beat a calculated hit, and luckily those dudes have big egos and forget.
Not to mention, I carry a cane with me anyway and have an extra 4-5 feet on hulk man.

You phags who think you can't gain muscle without losing range of motion are retarded
Just because you train doesn't mean you train stupidly (like some people in this thread)
Like training your traps make you lose range of motion LOL
Training your traps should give you MORE flexibility and motion, dumbass

Nope, my trapezius have grow the the point now that when I lift my arms up it is harder to touch my inside of the elbows to my head, also deltoids play a roll too. You've never seen a bigger person that can't put there hands far behind their back? same thing.

I'm no where near that freak of nature but that guy can not lift his hands up as high as someone who doesn't lift. Funny when people think they know what they're talking about.

Nope. That just means you trained wrong.
I've seen plenty of people who trained wrong and lost motion, and not just big people.
I'm a 'big' guy, do mostly power lifts when I'm in the gym
but I didn't give up ANY flexibility to get there, because I took care of myself and trained SMART

That's why I put usually in there.
Most of the time (that I see. Another disclaimer) people are trying to work out the Major muscle groups. The biceps, the pecs, the whatevers. There are just as many muscles outside of those groups that are hard to work out with weights, simply because they control -minor- things like rotation, and control.
You have to do some pretty funky stuff to work out those areas, but your right, I have seen it done before.

Increasing muscle mass doesn't result in slowness or decreased range of motion.
Look at Evander holyfield. All you MMA napoleanites couldn't move your fists faster than him.
http://www.celebritynewsbuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/evander-holyfield.jpg
Look at a guy like Ray Rice. He's jacked and has thighs thicker than my waist. If you think he can do what he does without a flexible range of motion and speed, you're delirious.
