Well the original channels of the instruments stay in the step sequencer right above the layer, Plus the "effects" are in the mixer slots that the instruments are linked to. so I dunno what you mean by "all the work". plus any event automation you can just turn into an autoclip and link anything and everything to it... So just make a new pattern and dont use the layer just use the piano roll in the original channels of the instruments that are layered to add variation to a melody if you originally layered it and want to make it do something different. if you want it similar but change a note or two just clone the layer pattern as its own pattern and copy the MIDI notes to the original channel and change it up the way you want... it only takes a few seconds... but layers are for triggering things at the same time obviously otherwise dont use them But thats exactly what he said he needed it for anyway thats why I mentioned it. you have a hundred pattern spots, dont be afraid to use them. Use the clone or make unique options to easily copy a pattern... yada yada yada. When you got 3 snares 3 kicks 2 hats, 4 bass sounds, 3 pads, etc, and a bunch of other samples mixed in, its easier to just compose a layer of each of the instruments than to copy/ paste a ton of times to each individual sample/instrument when your doing a a melody that involves everything to be synced. then if you want just make a new pattern and you can add variation if you like without the layers, simple. Plus even when using a layer you can automate the original instruments with no problem... Layers are very useful if you know how to use your software.

i think that fl studio has cheap vst's and cheap sounding effects. and i ment by an acapella program by taking the music out of a song and leaving the vocals so i can use them

Learn how to use them correctly without presets and you'll get great results, I could guarantee it... Plus you said you had reason and a bunch of other stuff also including albino,, Experiment with the shitload of stuff you got, and READ the interwebs, its really helped me a lot. your still gonna need to learn how to use the stuff though, I mean its cool to get a nice new vst and play around, but if you learn what you got you could just apply that to the other stuff when you think its time for an upgrade. Just know that the VST is not gonna make you better, only you can make you better...
Here's a DnB I made not to long ago using FL, It doesn't sound cheap...
Dissecting the presets to find out how they work could help you make your own good sounds. as for filters n stuff, the fruity love philter is Great! so is the fruity free filter/fruity filters... I mean you could go get moar vsts idc i'm just sayin its not the answer, but that's the awesomeness of FL and its support of VSTs.
Also here's a great guide to help your mixing... http://www.scribd.com/doc/11995844/Guide-to-Mixing
oh and about the acapella thing, Its impossible to easily just take clean vocals from a song, it would take work and it wouldnt be perfect as you would either cut off some of the frequencies in the vocal part and/or still hear the song in the back,,, but the Edison editor plugin in FL is Awesome I suggest you check it out, its the kind of thing for stuff like that... Recording your own vocals would be the best option, or use samples from something.
They have lots of good free tutorials on youtube to help...
I wish plenty of jammin choons in your future.

Ok well I'm not exactly sure what kind of critique your looking for...but,
1, I really like it, sounds big, I could see it being used with a little work 2, I think the "ping" parts are weak and wispy but I'm sure you could twist the little drones into something descent. 3, I like it, maybe a little eq, chorus and a bass boost though. 4, I like the first sound but the plain saws kind of ruin it unless you layer them and smooth it out imo. 5, I like this, and the synth also, it could be used with a little tweak and maybe some distortion on the bass part. 6, maybe with some eq off the high ends and a layered sub it could give a nice punch 7, This one has good depth, with a little reverb/chorus it could sound FAT
Those ideas aren't set in stone, just stuff I would try out and see how it sounds from there, All in all though it def wasn't bad, some of the sounds need tweaking though imo, I understand that you said minimal effects were added so I think they'll sound nice in a mix once you add the effects to smooth them out. I'm sure if you mess around with the mixer they could turn into some worthy sounds. don't be afraid to pile it on and try it out. Maybe even play around with a layer or two to thicken some sounds? It is your music though so maybe their pretty much the way you want them to sound I'm just throwin out ideas. ya know. Experiment MOAR! and of course compressssss!!
Do you have any songs I could check out that I don't have to download?
Just curious how come you pick the wasp for your bass sounds?

yeah my soundcloud link is in my sig. My stuff is somewhat varied so don't just click around the first page. Go for what file names appeal to you?
Uhm i use wasp because i downloaded all these other synths that people recommend but i hate fancy shit. I find synths with onboard effects and sequencers to be really distracting. What i do is just clone a synth i like and adjust a parameter that i could maybe sequence in a more advanced synth.
i'm going to try out those recommendations, if you want any presets from anything let me know.

Cool man, I can can definitely hear an improvement. Maybe a little more drum variation and a sub bass layer, but wobble the volume of the sub synced with the existing basslines, so the lows stand out moar. Just a couple ideas for now.
