Cool Lord Mayonnaise. I knew this was not the area but the graphic really put it into perspective how unusual it really is. Thanks

Funny Dreamtime but as I had previously mentioned, these are not growing in wood chips. They are growing in a lawn amongst grass and dead weeds. There are no wood chips in site. The closest thing is a native garden with cane mulch on it and that is about two metres away.
Lord Mayonnaise, now that I look, the red circle is a little too close to the tropic of Cancer but it is still very cool.

If its not growing in wood chips or on an old cleared bushland, I wonder what it is?
Cool find!

Ok Karode! So I have this print sitting on a piece of foil. It is very light, nothing like a P. Cubensis print. The colour is a very light purple, almost a lavender colour. I have not folded it nor placed it in desiccant to dry. My question is how should I fold it and package it as to not disturb the delicate pattern? Are you just after the spores for microscopy or do you need the spore pattern intact? Sorry for so many ?'s. Thanks mate BB

The pattern doesn't need to be intact. I'd suggest you fold it up so the spores are sealed and then stick it in a ziplock back before sending it.

I stick the zip lock in a folded up piece of bubble wrap so the rollers don't crush the print.

Just do as German_Kahuna says. I'm not after fancy patterns, just the spore themselves.

If it is a new discovery and a close relative to the sub, what should it be called?
Psilocybe subaeruginosa tropicalis minii

Yes, I have had fantasies about what the name could be if it is indeed unique. How does that process work I wonder. Maybe Psilocybe brewnii?
