They're profitable even if you sell them for a cheap price(strictly up to you).
I agree, i eat very few, and as the grower i sell for a very cheap price, partly so no one is annoyed if they aren't spectacular, and that it is all profit. If someone wants to make five bucks off the eighth I sell them that fine, I think asking for like twenty five an is a bit much, especially when its ten bucks profit for someone who is just turning around and selling it to the next guy. twenty is reasonable unless theres some evidence that the shrooms are something special, but otherwise run of the mill should be sold cheap.
I think selling outdo though at unreasonable prices is really worse, i have seen what people on this site haul back, and not one person has ever remarked that the ones they find are as good as the ones you grow, at least not that I have seen.

it is worth it if you like to trip, I ate almost all of the shrooms I grew for the first year, ate most of them fresh too.

Dont know what state you are in, but the feds could really care less about a mushroom grow unless they know the grower has a lot of cash, like pf or some of those 100lbs+ grows you read about in the news.
Any p.cubs are a felony in every state in the u s that i am aware of.

According to this link, if it's correct, there are several states including mine where it's a misdemeanor... at least on the first offense.

Growing them isn't the problem. This will make some folks cry, but I produced nearly 5 dry pounds in a month with relative ease. If conditions are right, with a little ingenuity it is VERY possible to produce large amounts.
I'll be honest, I had someone lined up that wanted a large quantity, one time deal. He backed out (like I figured he would) so I kept a very small amount and burned the rest. I haven't had so much as a speeding ticket in the last 7 years, have never been in trouble, so I was super uncomfortable with having that much of a sched 1 substance just hanging around.
That said, mushrooms are the red-headed stepchild of the "drug" world. I have only done mushrooms, and smoked pot a few times, and I loved them both. But people are messed up in the head. People who smoke crystal meth, and shoot up black tar heroin are DEATHLY afraid of mushrooms; one of the safest substances out there.
If you are looking to sell something and make money, mushrooms are NOT it.

me, personally, I'd prefer to get a continuous rotation starting...so that the mushrooms are always in one stage or another, and it's constantly producing / drying out / and canning in set amounts {say, an ounce ata time} and then you just open em as you need em
you could become that reliable guy that always has it
