ID- possible deadly Galerina

Hey everyone, my friend found these while we were hunting and nearly ate them on the spot due to the golden appearance. We were looking for P. subaeruginosa. I think they look like Galerina's, but I thought I would check here before I throw them away There was literally hundreds of these things popping up at this spot.

Habitat: Australian forest, woodland area, quite high up in a very wet valley.
Gills: Light creamy color, to brown. Browning further with age
Stem: White some light yellowy brown on some spots. , Strength- from very strong to incredibly easy to break
Cap: Golden brown, to brown. button sized pins and large wavy viels on older caps.
Spore print color: Coming now, still waiting.
Bruising: I did see some very light bluish bruising on the stems of some specimens but I think its more wishful thinking then anything.

Watch for an orange spore print. If thats the case it is more than likely a galerina.

Tell your friend that eating random mushrooms on the basis of their color is a great way to die.

I read that Galerina has a rusty brown spore print. Would you say that it is sort of orange?
The spore print should be done in 2 or 3 hours, although I'm pretty positive that there galerina

I'm pretty sure thats rusty brown? and as you can see the dried mushroom doesn't really resemble dried subaeruginosa, I don't think so anyway.
Galerina? yay or nay

None at all, he just filled up his bag with them, and we got these photos of them growing. I wasn't sure of his find early on because of the lack of blue bruising which is usually obvious on our local P. subaeruginosa.
Just thought I'd get them IDed and make sure before I throw them all out.

They look like Galerina Marginata to me. Deadly poisonous.

I thought he had struck gold for sure! But when I cut them I was disapointed when they still hadn't blued up 15 minutes later.
If they are galerinas, they definitely fooled me! they looked very sub like while still growing in the wild.

Neither Galerina nor Psilocybe. They are Cortinarius, in picture 2, at least.

Pretty freaky how much they resemble subs, well to me anyway. A good reminder though that we do need to be careful!

The colours and habitat are off for Leratiomyces. These are quite common where I live. I think they are in Cortinarius subgenus telamonia.

In pic 2, you can see the cortina on the least mature specimen.

Cortinarius is a great choice, but just because a mushroom has a cortina doesn't means it's a cort. A lot of mushrooms can have a cortina. For example, Psilocybe cyanescens have them.
