you can hear a person's soul in their laughter

if a person cackles like some kind of witch,
be on guard
trust your instincts
and don't be fooled by your thoughts or desires
accept what is
before you find out the hard way that it really is
likewise, if a person laughs like a child
they are probably a child at heart, which is a beautiful thing
laugh with them
and who knows, maybe the sound of your own laughter can tell you things about yourself that you didn't know

no, not at all, but if you hear a certain something in a person's laugh that tells you something, you should not deny it
most of the spectrum is pretty innocent and nothing worth worrying about, but some can give warning signals that can be easily passed off in your mind as just a tone of laughter
but its not all about danger, most laughs are quite wonderful to say the very least
i'm just saying, if you get a strong feeling of identifying a person by the tone of their laughter, you should pay attention to that and not second-guess it
there's more to it, but too simple for explanation. You just have to listen

I agree with you somewhat... but sometimes I have a sinister ego laugh I catch myself doing. Does that mean I'm a witch?

that means sometimes you have a more sinister ego than you realize. I'm sure you don't always laugh like that, but if you do, at that moment it is probably a reflection of you at that moment, in some way. There is such a wide spectrum of laughs that vary based on a variety of factors, such as simply feeling a little reserved or introverted at the time, used to laughing that way, etc, that many of them aren't of much significance. but maybe they are
no it does not mean you are a witch, it just means your overall mindset fluctuates. That may or may not be worth giving some attention to
but like I said it's not all about the bad either, laughter is one of the greatest things there is.

its better to not really focus on the details of what I've said
the thread title pretty much says it

lol yeah, and unless it was a purely business interaction, there's probably going to be a whole lot of extra BS to come along with it, fyi...and possibly even still
I don't mean that in a smartass way, its just that that was the main inspiration of the thread
its easy to not want to pay attention to that (because of the sexiness), but it really can indicate in a subtle way some of what could be to come from that person, and in some situations you should really not ignore that, or else be responsible for whatever is to come
this was the important danger warning I wanted to share, but of course laughter is a great thing and what it reveals can also be absolutely wonderful

that's a matter of semantics. By childish you mean immature, and very in-the-ego, by child-like I mean free from anything, just pure laughter

that says nothing to contest this
and my major point is that if you hear something that tells you something, you should not find reasons to second-guess it
but of course laughter is often simply just a good thing

Most of the times, laughter isn't a good thing. It's straight people's reaction to anything they find slightly incongruent with their reality-tunnels, so that they can despise it as ridiculous and go back to their ordinary affairs. In fact, you can measure your intelligence by counting how many times per minute you can make an average person burst into laughter by just speaking your mind ( before he gets violent, of course ). It's no coincidence that the best jokes are about things that straight people don't want to talk about.

I can accept that, which adds to my original conviction that you can tell a lot about a person by their laughter and particularly the tone of it
i guess I was just trying to say that not all laughter needs to be judged as something to find something negative about. Unfortunately, often times, it can reveal displeasing things if you really listen to it. But at the same time, it can reveal something beautiful about a person, such as a child-like state of wonder and freedom

Sometimes it reveals pain and suffering.

Could you hear someones' soul also in their crying, sighing, ect? Is it more a matter of the actual expression or what it is in response to, like say you make someone cry, but do it with humor.
Would the cry be evaluated or the response to humor?
And what about deaf-mutes? They don't have souls?

I wonder how much you can tell about a person's soul from his/her farts...

uhhh... probably not as much
you might be able to tell a little bit about their diet...sometimes
but I think somehow, a person's farts are less reflective of their total being or current situational mentality than laughter
the stomach makes gurgling noises, and that can tell you things, but that is something that the body does without engaging the personality. Maybe that's not the best way to word it but hopefully its not too hard to see what I mean
Quote:
numonkei said: Could you hear someones' soul also in their crying, sighing, ect? Is it more a matter of the actual expression or what it is in response to, like say you make someone cry, but do it with humor.
Well...its more about the tone...sometimes you can tell a fake cry by the tone, sometimes people keep sighing irritatingly because they are nervous, so yea sometimes you can tell things by the sound of those things but just like laughter there is a large spectrum which is...generic, i guess i'll say for lack of something better, and therefore not of much significance
plus if you make someone cry from laughter, there is probably nothing to analyze, because at that point the person probably isn't being constrained by their self, they are just laughing freely
but think of laughter as like tone of voice, even speaking voice. Some people put on a speaking voice that they have picked up from everyone around them, and therefore aren't being themselves as much as mimicking what is around them. People who are more pure of spirit (again, lack of something better to call it) tend to speak more from the diaphragm, and their voice is more resonant. Think of what would make the difference between somebody who when they speak has a resonant and almost musical tone, compared to somebody who would sound like Joe Pesci. If you notice that your speaking voice and laughter both are more nasal than resonant, you might be more in-the-ego than you think. It isn't so much about your entire being throughout the history of your existence as it is your entire being at that very moment.
like if someone you would consider to be the most soulful singer, suddenly has a tone that sounds more like a common speaking voice, somehow restrained, there is something going on with them at that moment hindering them from doin thangs
really this is too simple for all this elaborate explanation and over-thinking that is only going to confuse and obscure

that is a ridiculous question
