i was not after yeild and since Rye here is expensive, I thought I might as well since I was making up cakes,
I am well aware that grain yeilds more, but as said before I just wanted something to put on agar

Grass seed is cheap, and apparently performs well with stones. Have you tried that?
I know you weren't after yield, this was directed at the comment of rye being expensive.

Hmmm Colorado should have cheap Rye though? I live on the east coast where rye is at crack prices.
Grass seed is more expensive here, than Rye is on the west coast. But here is nearly half the price of Rye.
This also depends on brand. Some grass seed is crazy high, but the cheap stuff is at tractor supply.

I haven't found the right feedstore for rye yet. It's not within 30 minutes of my house.
But wbs is on every corner.
Magic ingredient for stones is verm though. In cakes or in bulk.

It costs way more for me to make pf cakes than to use grain. So it makes more sense to me to use grain and get more yield and cleaner stones. I was just letting you know shea that you can get stones just as fast using small amounts of grain, if you dont have a pc then cakes are best but grains are cheaper most of the time.
