The big problem with downloading copyrighted movies and tv shows is that eventually the hammer will fall. Big downloaders are being tracked and listed and they plan to launch their lawsuits all at once.
This is billion dollar industry. Don't think for one second that you big time torrent users aren't being monitored. There's already been published cases for fuck's sake, so you know someone is looking. Some of these juicy titles are probably bait.
It's just a big risk for minimal reward. You are watching a TV show. Wow. Just don't bitch and moan when you get that letter telling you that you are being sued for $480,000 or whatever.

But you pay to watch cable TV... and you pay for internet service.
If I have Comedy Central, and say... AT&T DSL... who am I hurting? I have a DVR, I FF commercials anyway. I have already pre-payed for the content. Reviewers have already been allowed to view these two episodes.
This isn't theft, like say, stealing a movie that I could buy on DVD or a ticket to see it in the theatre.
Also, the movie industry has a LOT more $$$ than the TV industry, and WTF do you mean by, "You big time torrent users." How can you tell from where you sit who is BIG time and who is not?

But sadly, there's that big FBI warning... We all know it and we all ignore it. The bottom line is the material you guys are trafficking is copyrighted and illegal to possess and trade or whatever the law is. But now they can find you and sue your fucking balls off. 
It's just a matter of time. And for what? The show is on TOMORROW.

Google "torrent bust" and see.
I know they cracked down on Elite in 2005 and got a few people. That's why it went to private trackers with invite only and shit like that. It's been 5 years, which is not very long from a legal standpoint.
My point is that I'm pretty sure SOMEONE is working to ID and track big time users, add them to a master list and at some point, sue everyone at once. Or at least try. It would just suck to be one of the people in the crosshairs.

Actually you pay each month for access to TV. The shows on TV make money from TV ad's which you still don't understand even tho ive mentioned it multiple times. Yes its true they do sometimes sell dvd's, and is becoming more popular to do, however dvd's come out at various times. For example, two and a half men, i can't find any of the new dvd's for the current seasons on netflix. So, while these seasons are airing you have people downloading, they don't get the ratings, nor do they get the dvd sales during that time, so they have less incentive for new seasons and are indeed loosing money, infact one of the reasons they arn't released yet is prolly so more people watch it on tv, and i see no logical explanation on how you could denie that your hurting companys by downloading. Your logic is that your spreading the word...they don't need you to do that, they have Ad's for that, they have TV guides for that, And they sure as hell don't need you advertizing torrents for them. If you think your doing them such a good PR compaign why don't you email them and tell them about all your good deeds and ask for a check. You'll just get a pair of handcuffs in return.
Also, your internet service doesn't have anything to do with cable TV shows, besides the fact that your using it to illegally download a show that damages the shows ratings.
And again, we are NOT talking about music or anything else, we are talking about TV shows here. If you wanna bring up other crap then lets bring up computer games....Speaking on logic, if you download a show, you will be less likely to watch it on tv. You will also be less likely to buy the dvd's. And as this thread showcases, also more likely to perswade others to do the same, rather than promote actually watching the show on tv.
Oh and its pretty sad that your so butthurt over your tabaccy thread that you would try and get revenge by hurting a show you like, pretty pathetic actually...
