So basically here's my set-up.
600ml purified or distilled water.
100g NoAH (Red Devil Lye)
100g Powdered MHRB
1 Quart Mason Jar
1 Half Pint Mason Jar
Scale (to weigh lye and mhrb)
A 2TBSP steel measuring cup
Heptane (Bestine brand found at Joanne's or Michaels)
Big Spoon to stir
Funnel
GLOVES!
1. Pour 600ml purified water into 1quart mason jar, prepare 100g lye and pour into water, stir thoroughly and then cap jar and give it a good shake until the water becomes clear again. Should be relatively hot, I shook for about 3 minutes.
2. Using funnel, pour 100g powdered MHRB into lye water mixture, stir thoroughly and cap/seal jar. Shaking or agitating for a good 5 minutes should let the jar get really hot.
3. Add 75ml Heptane to hot mixture and shake again for 3 to 5 minutes, let sit and allow the heptane to seperate into a clear layer on the top. you'll be able to see when the layer is ready to pull after 10 minutes or so. this step doesn't need a picture really.
4. Remove the layer of heptane using either a dropper or a 2TBSP steel measuring cup (as pictured above) Basically, you slowly submerge the measuring cup until the rim hits the top of the mixture, if you slowly begin to dip, only the solution will pour into the cup. this allows you to keep black gunk out! if gunk gets into your cup you can simply pour it back into mixture and clean it with water and apply less pressure when dipping. Basically, you will be able to pull 90% of the solvent using this method without contaminating your dropper or end product. If this sounds too complicated, I can post pics when I do my second pull tomorrow.
5. Using the same measuring cup you used to measure the heptane, carefully scoop out all the top layer solvent into your measuring cup, you might get a little bit of bark root and veggie fat but this is okay! it will collect on the bottom of the pyrex measuring cup, then can then pour the dmt rich solvent into the half pint mason jar or glass dish of your choosing. (careful not to let gunk into your dish for freezing)
6. Half pint mason jars are perfect for collecting and freezing your dmt rich heptane. They are airtight so will not leave your fridge smelling funky and are easy to scrape. It is crystallizing quite well with only 20 minutes in the freezer. I am so far extremely happy with this tek, it was super easy, not messy at all and stress free.
I think I might have pulled a majority of the crystals in the first pull, I've put about 100ml fresh heptane in hot mixture and separation is going quite slow. I'm going to let it sit overnight before I attempt to pull solvent and do freeze prep.
Will post yield from first pull tomorrow. It's looking good!

Update!
Managed to do three pulls of 50ml dmt rich heptane, they are freezing and have beautiful snow globes.
Going to wait till tonight to scrape and find out yield but it is looking really good so far.

In priciple I have no problems with this tek except it is quite dangerous to be shaking a hot jar of lye. Also, if you follow the posts in the link you provide to the nexus, you will see that Jorkest (I think that's his avatar) with almost 4,000 posts quite clearly says he can pull 1 gram of DMT with ROOM TEMPERATURE heptane.
Given the above, I would advise against shaking a hot jar of lye, especially since there is credible information tending to show it is unnecessary. Just a safety thing. No beef with the tek. The heptane (Bestine) really is just a more expensive substitute (albeit more pure and more polar solvent) for the cheaper, but classic, naphtha.
If you are going to do this as written, BE EXTRA CAREFUL, diligent, and AWARE!!! I have supplies to try this, but would opt for the room temp approach. After I do it, I'll report back.
Currently doing a bufotenine extraction, so no time right now to do the room temp version of this tek.

heptane is the shiiiiit!!!!!
only do a gram at the most. i cleaned 1 gram of yellowish DMT and got back 600 mg of pure white crystalline DMT.
once melted, and mixed together, i let the heptain and DMT settle at room temp for a half hour. half hour later and i have fat crystals already forming on the inside of the shot glass i was doing it in. it was nuts!!!

i've scraped the first three pulls and they are drying right now in coffee filters.
looking really good, i'm gonna eyeball it and say i've got well over 400mg from first three pulls.
i'm reheating basified solution and have used heptane from first pulls, will let separate and freeze again.
will have some weight on the pull from today in a few hours.
as for shaking hot lye, i've got it sealed off in a air tight mason jar and i relieve pressure every so often from the jar. i've always done room temp extractions but already this extraction looks like better yield from room temp STB.
i'm curious to see room temp results and might just try it on the next batch to see for myself.

i say only do a gram at a time, because a friend of mine (yes a real friend of mine, not me) cleaned 9 grams, and came out with 8, but it still wasnt white crystals.
when i did small amounts, i always came out with beautiful white goodness.

The numbers are in on this one
My first pull is 580mg and is white to off white colored.
My second pull came in at 190mg and is off white yellow.
my third pull is roughly 125mg is yellow.
this totals 895 mg. almost a gram! in one night with one hour's work.
i haven't scraped all the dmt still stuck to the mason jars, they're taking longer to dry but i'm guessing i'm well over a gram!
i'm excited to freeze the leftover heptane and then begin re-x.

So final number is a total of 1 gram off-white slightly yellow crystals.
this picture is of bee pollen if you catch my drift:

started doing AB teks and my first extraction was pretty successful.
switched to STB about 2 years ago but this is best yield i've got from 100g.
