One of the concerts I was thinking about going to is in a place where they criminalized public smoking. It's a shame because I saw my first concert there (Tom petty) and it's a really nicely laid out place and I had a lot of good times there.
I haven't been there in a few years, but I learned that the County banned all public smoking, including at out-door concerts, and that's what this is, it's a huge outdoor area. How smoking could possibly offend someone going to see an 'awesome ass rock concert' in a huge well ventilated area is beyond my comprehension. 
I doubt I'll end up going, because I like to drink when I'm at concerts and freely smoke. If I gotta sneak cigarettes in and smoke in a porter John with the fear of getting caught and removed, I think that'd be about enough bad vibes to keep me from going.
This anti-smoking crap is getting really lame.

We have a similar thing where I live.
But I've been to many indoor concerts where people are smoking cigarettes or weed, and nothing is done to stop them.

is it easy enough to get out an in of the venue to smoke outside and come back in? if that's illegal too then that's pretty fucking stupid.

I actually contacted the director of the venue and he told me you could leave and come back, but all of the area surrounding the venue, including the parking lot and the business park next door is considered public and that my action to smoke would be at my own risk, because I could be cited by the County police on patrol there for public smoking, even on the public roads.
To me, that's CRAZY

wow....that is truly absurd. i wonder if smoking in your vehicle is considered public.
i bet if they saw you smoking in your car if ANYTHING theyd tell you to put it out. unless they are major assholes.

It's not a big deal just be discrete about it. Smoking pot is actually illegal some places and that won't stop anyone, especially at a concert.

Yeah in my experience tobacco smoke is frowned upon way more than pot smoking.

Damian Marley did a free concert during the Olympics here in Vancouver and EVERYONE was smoking weed.

Smoking bans at concerts suck. I got kicked out of a Lotus show once for smoking.
I can understand smoking bans in indoor areas, but to ban smoking at an outdoor concert is ridiculous.

If I'm smoking a cigarette and I notice somebody near me reacting to it negatively, I move away. Simple.

I was at a psy-trance festival this past weekend and everyone was smoking DMT freely. When I was close to the smoke I could almost taste it in my mouth.

Yeah it has a pretty offensive smell so it's best to find a place out of the way to smoke it. But like Rob said at some parties it's totally acceptable so you have to just feel it out.

Most concert venues you cant smoke in, but people do. I was at Hampton last year and that place is no smoking, but the hallways and the arena were smoked out, it was weird. The whole venue had a haze to it, but it was probably weed and smoke, but it was smokey
