Okay, since your like the 20th person to throw up their arms and pee their pants about that; let me make a logical inference: because he started doing freelance technical writing, yard work, and e-commerce, maybe whatever led into a more stable income involves one of those thing. Sorry, guys. I've been really busy and didn't think this thread would get so many responses. For all the people that wanted to know, most of what I do is selling plants and cuttings. None of them are illegal and only a few are even psychoactive at all. It was just a hobby that I never thought would turn into anything until I started to get more and more sales. Probably a big part is living in a good climate where gardening is popular and almost anything grows. It doesn't make a ton of money but it's enough to pay the bills right now.
It really helped to read all of the supportive responses, especially right now. People can be so cruel towards anyone that doesn't fit into the neat and tidy mold that most of society lives in. I just got into an argument with a family member that doesn't support what I do. He kept insisting that while working from home is great, it would have been "good for me" if I had been forced to integrate into society with a normal job and learned to live like everyone else. One of my friends told me I need to learn how to blow off comments like that, but it's really hard when they come from people I'm close to.

That sounds pretty cool. I looked into that once -- to see if I could make a living selling san pedro -- and I concluded that I would need a lot of land and a hell of lot of cuttings to get started. You must sell some expensive, exotic stuff.

Sounds pretty cool to me, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that for the long term without knowing more about the income level and growth prospects. Some people are cut out for entrepreneurship and others are not.
