I to was going to say those filter disks might not be the best choice..youve used them for years?
Well anyway..nice looking stuff..yanno I've seen mixes similar to yours..with 20% grain added in..then you just inject the whole mix. Theres no PCing jars and waiting for them to colonize..just put 75-80% bulk mix in with grain and shoot a bunch of LC in. BlueHelix did some of this in bags if you do a search. Cut out a few more steps

i bet if you ironed one side to the point that it started to melt a little, you could achieve the heat treated side.
i'm assuming that's all that's done to the other ones anyway. it would make sort of a 'sheen' to one side. i'll have to give it a try and see what happens.

Yeah, Thats how P.Menace does it too. I was thinking of evolving over to this method as well. Except use the bowles instead of a bag.

Of course, your filter choice would do fine...not really the point of the tek right
I've always wanted to go that route..mix in your spawn with bulk, PC and inject..but PCing all the bulk I use......

________________________________________________________________ Edit: Added to original post*
On further inspection, I have noticed that when you stack these one on top of the other, the bottom ones GAE port hole is kinda smothered by the top one:

...as you can see here, I am generously hinging the top one away from the bottom just enough to get a pic of how close they are. If I was to let the top one rest all the way down it covers the GAE port. So I will go into further detail on how I personally worked this issue out when loading 3 into my (23 quart Presto) pressure cooker. The exact pressure cooker I use is commonly used by most members I have seen around here, so perhaps this will pinpoint relate to the majority of fellow shroomerites, ...but at the very least you may be stacking more then 2, or 3 on top of each-other in your PC as well, so...
In a quick search for a supply around the house that I could use to prop them directly off of one-n-nuther, I came across these bamboo shish-kabob skewers:

First I added my water to the PC (You can't really tell):

Then just organized/laird spacing the bowls apart with 2 skewers every tier (In a cross-hatch pattern). I guess you could use jar lid bands maybe, but I needed a lower profile method because 3 bowls were a tight, YET PERFECT fit into the PC. Notice how every tier I place the sticks one direction then the next tier I cross hatch them back the opposite direction. This adds more stability to the stack, but perhaps its just my OCD showing

How ever you configure them just make sure they don't come into obstruction with the lids locking mechanism. Also, don't forget to cover the lid with a sheet of foil (Like a PCed jar)

I was really excited how uniformly perfect 3 fit into the PC, utilizing maximum efficiency payload for each PC cycle.

Akira's Bulk Steamer Pasteurizer Tek is the shit...
I still pasteurize the old fashion way for larger projects, just figured I would throw this tek out there for any noob taking baby steps into the world of bulk. Its just another option to throw out there that I didn't feel anyone else has covered extensively...
I load my bulk into vacuum sealable food saver bags via:

When pasturing the old fashion way. You can cram allot of bulk into the bags, then when you vacuum pack it down, it REALLY cuts down on the size. Then I just dump them off into a huge stock-pot submerging them in water since there fully airtight, and just turn up the heat...
Anyhow, I have a new tek in the making. Nothing huge but I think its kewl enough to post
...stay tuned
