They are certainly a stunning potant strain.
Thats for sure.

Note Last yrs

I see what you mean, they just tend to raise up on one side. They look like very nice subs to munch indeed though Umma, glad you enjoyed them!

Great pics as well, pic 2 looks like it has some very deep blue staining.
I don't usually look in area's as grassy as what you can see in your pics, it's got me to thinking about my spots a little more

I was out in the rain this morning, nearly slipped over all over the place. I'm lucky I made it back out of the hills before everything was starting too flood. Even the roads in the suburbs are flooding.

I might go out for a last hunt over the next few days when it clears up.

To the SA hunters and others who frequent this thread:

It has been a lovely season indeed, and even though it draws near to an end, I am very glad. I have learned much and have met a number of you this year. It was great!

Thanks to all of you for the tips and pics and for the stories of your adventures.

I haven't managed to get out for a hunt for the last few weeks, and the last two times I did get out the places I explored yielded no active mushrooms. No matter: it has been a wonderful season for me and you guys all helped bring that about. Thanks.

I can't be sure I'll be able to manage it, but I'm still keen to go walking in search of the gold and blue before the weather turns hot and dry and all the fungus hides away. PM me if you've got hunting plans and want an extra number in your party - I will do my best to make myself available.

Well I went for a hike today and didn't see anything active.

Lots of fresh growth though, but prime spots are still flooded.

These are the main kinds of habitat I been looking in.

I reckon you're just too late in the season now, back in june and july I found new spots everywhere I went but now it just doesn't happen, hope you're having fun hiking though. I think you have to go down as far as you can in the valley where its stays cold and doesn't dry out, these are the only of my spots that are survivng.

Hi guys
Looks like I've missed it again.
I have a pdf that seems to have reasonalbe id's of all mushrooms grown throughout Aus.
I was hoping to get out this season but may have left it too late?
If anyone wants to teach a newbie the ropes - with a view to 'sustainable farming' as I learnt as a country boy. Please PM

Finally have internet again, yay. anyway Went for a hunt yesterday and managed a handfull. Will keep looking, and keep posting till the season is definately finished. Kinda dissapointed that the season will be over soon tho. Will have to find some other excuse to get out into nature and get some excersise. still its been an adventurous season. only about 8 months or so till it all begins again. cant wait.
