I just smoked a bowl of purple urkle and drank a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barleywine while riding as a passenger on a stagecoach. It was sweet!
Halfway through, I put down the bowl only to realize I can pull out my rifle and shoot birds!
I'm less than 2 hours in and it's fun... Should only get better and better, especially for an RPG/story/Rockstar fan like myself.
I don't care about multiplayer in this particular title.
Maybe once I play the campaign, but it's a rental so...

lol, I'm smoking weed drinking sierra nevada porter playing this. seemed the appropriate beer. this game is amazing, and will likely get game of the year, unless rockstar's other upcoming game LA Noire is better. but I don't see halo reach winning or anything...so I'm pretty sure this is the GOTY 2010.
anyone who hasn't played this: do it.

I must say Im not hugely into this game. It has a lot of problems as I see it. Specifically the world seems boring, you can only talk to people if they are part of your mission so the characters seem real flat. I was expecting an Elder Scrolls type scenario where all characters will talk to you and you can get missions from them if you say certain things. The initial missions aren't that interesting really also.
Im going to play it all this weekend so hopefully I learn to dig it but so far it seems exactly like GTA. Also all Ive been playing recently is Super Street Fighter so Im used to really fast paced games right now.

I'm maybe 8 - 10 hours in now and definitely hooked. It took a while for things to pick up, but I love it now. I really want to meet some native americans soon... I haven't seen a single injun yet.

I just got to the third area in the northeast. that place is fucking scary. pretty much right when I got there a pack of about 10 wolves rushed me, I tried shooting them but they got too close and I nailed my new horse in the head with a bullet and got murdered. I ran around the plains blowing up buffalo with dynamite, which is fucking awesome by the way, and then i went into the forests/mountains and got scared to shit by a grizzly bear and ran away until I finally took it down with about 8-9 shots from my new LeMat revolver. shit is scary.
but definitely, hunting buffalo with dynamite is win.

I haven't even touched the online yet. I wanted to get 100% and then do online for a while, then go back and play single player again, this time being bad and killing folks a lot etc.

Last night I did the attack on fort mercer, then the mission with Irish where you float the river...
The next segment was one of my favorite gaming moments EVER. Riding through the beautiful mexican landscape with the perfect Jose Gonzales song playing? That's ART in motion for ya.

My girlfriend saw this at Gamestop yesterday and made us drive to like, four different stores before we found a PS3 copy. Every place had 360 versions, lol.
She stayed up until like, 2am playing.
And is back at it today.

Yeah, I've sunk almost 15 hours into this already, and I reckon it's now my favourite game. I don't usually care so much about video games; I buy them when they're cheap, and play them mostly either when I'm bored, with friends or stoned. I decided to preorder this because I like all of Rockstar's open-world games, though, and I've been spending all my spare moments on it. I'm only partway through Mexico at the moment because I've spent so long absorbing the atmosphere. It's probably the most immersive game I've played, not to mention the most engrossing when high. Highly recommended. What I like the most is how I'm still finding out new things about the game; few games even last me 15 hours, let alone still introduce new things by that time.
