Well the first two awards have been announced and both go to pitpoodles. Comeback players of the year Tim Hudson and Francisco Liriano. Now we wait for Cy Youngs, one of which will almost certainly go to Halladay, Rookie of the Year, which might, though probably not, go to Jaime Garcia and MVP where I have probably the two top contenders in Cano and Hamilton. Cabrera outhit them a little bit but (a) he played for a dud Tiger team and (b) he is an awful first baseman. Both Cano and Hamilton played important defensive positions very well, especially Cano, who I would give the nod to. He played almost every game and picked up huge amounts of slack when Rodriguez and Texeiera struggled at various times.
But all that pales in comparison to the team success to which they so selflessly applied their wonderful talents and work ethic. Well done lads and I will hate to see you go next year.
