well, first off i dont have a wife and kids. i live by myself, in a house that im leasing. the only reason i still work there is because i work 12 days a month, and clear a little over 2000, from that job alone. i got bored sitting at the house all the time, so i started working at a gas station 3 days a week, and i also bartend on my 2 saturdays off, so life is good(for now). i make on average, 3500-4000 a month.
no, i dont do this stuff cause it makes my job easier. i do it because half these people dont deserve to be there. theyre human just as much as i am. so, i treat them as such, just like i did when i was in the military. my disciplinary was because i didnt write up an inmate who cussed out my co-worker( she is a brown-nosing bitch who thinks she is gods gift to men, but she wears so much make-up that you can probably see the sun glare off her from space, and so much shitty perfume that it makes me think of my grandma. she deserved it because an inmate was in the shower during count-time, she walked back there and cuffed him, while he was still naked. then, she proceeded do lead him to the main dayroom, saying "this is what happens to you when your not out of the shower when i say". if i was him, i wouldve called my lawyer, and sued her ass, for misconduct, and hazing. besides, my "disciplinary" was a verbal warning.
im not nice out of fear, because all i have to do is flip a switch, or a code on the radio, and tear gas is coming from the ceiling, and the calvary(20 CO's in riot gear) are seconds away. im nice because thats the way i choose to be, and if i need the floor swept, or the toilets cleaned, i never get and lip. in my book that is a success.

and about me gettin high before work- i dont do it every day, not even every month, cause i grow my own. and, even if i fail a drug test, do you know what they will do? put me in drug counseling. thats it

and for the record, im not a pussy. ive cuffed plenty of guys, ive broken up fights, ive stopped bleeding on a guy, while the paddy wagon comes, ive seen some crazy shit. hell, ive already went through 1 can of O.C. spray, and about halfway through my second. i had to earn respect, especially so since im so short. so no, it hasnt been an easy ride, and anyone here whos been locked up for more than 3 days in the county will tell you that

If he does his job and treats people well I don't see WTF the problem is. He didn't put those people in jail, he just makes sure they don't kill and rape each other.

Sounds like OP understands these guys are all in a shitty situation, whether or not they've done anything shitty to deserve it is a question long gone and irrelevant. He can't change that. #12, you're an idiot and you're just trying to pass the blame for getting arrested off from the arrestee onto the arrester. arrestor. iunno, whatever. It might not be a just law, but it's applied (more or less) justly -- that is, if you get thrown in the clink for growing shrooms, and the guards there also grow shrooms, if they got caught like you did they would be arrested like you were. There's no double standard, no hypocrisy. Again, those guys are not the ones who made or enforced the law. They have absolutely nothing to do with the law at all. They're past that point in the judicial process. They're just there to watch over people who have been judged and sentenced by other people. They didn't charge, judge, or sentence you.
Yall need to chill out on hating people because of what they do. People with shitty jobs like this, or telemarketing, customer service, hell.. any job that involves dealing with people is a shitty job.. you gotta get into your head that they are not their job, they are in no way responsible (usually..) for the situation you've got yourself into, and most likely they'd really prefer to help you as quickly as possible. They're not out to get you, they don't have a vendetta against you, if you're just good to them they'll be good to you and EVERYBODY WILL BE HAPPY! Being pissy to someone in that kind of position will never, ever help you out. Whatever you're pissed about they didn't do, and they know this, and are probably already pretty tired of people blaming shit on them and taking out their frustrations on them. Direct that shit through the proper channels -- not because you have to do things properly, but because the proper channels are the only way to get your voice through to the people that actually would have an impact on whatever you're bitching about.
It's no different than chewing out some kid in a paper hat because you think your soft drink costs too much. The fuck are you doing, man?

I would love to be a CO just so I can do what the OP does as that is the greatest thing while while your in jail is to have a cool CO. Let me tell you what if it wasnt for cool ass CO's in jail my life would have been 10 times worse.

really man, if you expect complete consistency from people or the world, you must be a true innocent. that would explain your extreme angst about the world simply being like it has always been.
ppl aren't saints. they can't always put moral and ethical issues above immediate personal issues. ppl are not usually the buddha in disguise, they are simply doing the best they can at any given time.
when ppl don't live up to the highest moral and ethical standards, the real tragedy is not that they aren't saints - it is that they are probably doing as well as they can given the situation and what they have to give.
the world was made screwed up, it has lurched along screwed up for millions of years without imploding from not being perfect, and it will continue to not be perfect but get by long after we are gone.
it's a messed up world, but it's the only one we have. lower your expectations and you will be happier and have less angst.
