Hey cubeeater I was thinking about going up to The Gathering this year myself. I play djembe quite a bit and I've heard nice stories about the drum circles.

Anyone know if it's been too cold to find mushies? It's been frosting nearly every night here in CFL so I'm hesitant to try my normal field.

I went out today and checked, nothing, not even a trace. The freeze has murdered any chance of growth at my field.

I went out today just to walk the field, and see where the cows are. As I was walking out I still seen some Pan Cyans growing, but only about 20. The weather is looking good soon. I think my field will recover quickly.

If you show up you won't have to worry about looking for any, I got your back. I don't play drums, but every time I go I eat a bit of Mushrooms, and get pulled to the drums. The rhythm of the drums play a big role in my trip. Does anyone else experience that?

Everyone that goes is open minded. You can walk up to anyone , and ask any thing. People are very loving. One time there I ate a little too much, and couldn't handle my self. Next thing I know I have 3 people trip sitting me, giving me water and anything I needed with out having to ask. That time I was there I remember my mind thinking I needed some liquids, but I couldn't walk, talk or do anything really. Next thing I remember is a woman saying you will be ok, hear is some water. I thought she was from my mind, until I start coming to and see I'm in someone else s camp. That time on I feel so developed in love, and peace when I'm at the Gathering. Let me quit rambling, sounding like a hippie. You can find more info and videos if you Google it. Do not just go for drug's. Later

Anyone ever heard of Agape gatherings? its essentially what your talking about however, more centered around sobriety but it is all about unconditional love, unity, and openess. I went to one for a friend in a 12 step program - it was fun and had great vibes.

It'd be cool to get together with another shroomrite in the clearwater/pinellas area or even Tampa area. I also do Poi (spin fire, leds, glowsticks, etc) and use to frequent the Treasure Island drum circle on sundays and the Clearwater beach drum circle. (although I havent gone in a while). PM me if your down =].

Edit: Read forum rules; Introduced idea of making a map that I would update with information collected...however that is against the rules so your reading this explanation instead :bobmarley:

Went to my field today and as I thought, nothing whatsoever. Hopefully a full week of warm temps will help things out.

I'm thinking a week or two, and we should be good. This rain and warm weather is what we needed for sure. I went out today and seen nothing fresh growing but did find about 45 already dry still standing on the turds, I just left them. Mycelium  growth still was there when I flipped a couple over to see.

hey quick question; I was gonna use google earth just to find some fields around my area. What is the best time to hunt? Ive heard night, but that has to make it more difficult so maybe early morning? I was thinking about just going around and kinda nature walking it to see whats going on

I hate hunting at night. Just look around and try to find a field where you can't be seen from the road. Daytime hunting is much better.

Cool; google earth doesnt show much in the Clearwater area, but im take a ride on my bike n see if I cant get into a few fields. BTW, Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch area is known to have A LOT of cow fields. Some friends also mentioned Brooksville as a location for good fields too. (just sayin') :borat:

Yea having a bike is great, I wish I had one. No worries about having to find a place to park so that really expands your options.

ha, yup =] well, just got back from exploring my neck of the woods. At first, I was discouraged since I only came across a couple viable places to hunt. The first was cow patty heaven  I know right now theres nothing goin on due to the frost/temps. But who knows in a little bit since its getting warmer now. :awebig:

I loooove drums and drumming while tripping. They've having the Vision Council today and this weekend to decide the date and location of the gathering so that may be the deciding factor on if I make it out.

Probably though cause I'm poor and it'll be free!

I'm going out for a nature walk now maybe I can find a few. This weather is feeling nice! I heard the Gathering is Feb 6-13. They are having a Counsel meeting to see of the location.
