Try and remember that cannabis does not change who you are, only shows you parts of yourself you may have been hiding.
What you had on the bus you had a weed flashback, once I got fucking stoned out of nowhere a couple days after a heavy smoke session, freaked me out but its normal. Your tolerance will be down to nothing my friend so take 4 hits out of a pipe and put it down. Everyone has different comfort levels. As for the heartbeat/pass out feeling. Mixing weed with ANY alcohol and your running the risk of passing out. Heartbeat is completely normal to be increased, your blood vessels dilate much like if you were exercising (red eyes).
Most important thing to remember is that when you are high, you are not responsible for thinking. Many people feel pressured to control their thoughts when high, but lay back and let the weed think for you. Let any and all thoughts no matter how very strange enter your brain, that is what makes weed fun! With friends its easier to do that but alone its more difficult, that is why you don't get the "fucked up" feeling is because you resist the high and get paranoid. Whatever you do good luck!

as a marijuana advocate, i would never tell anyone to not smoke cannabis. I think it can help anyone wether its for recreational purposes or to clear anxiety to major pains. But because this plant is illegal it makes people go into a state of "paranoia" because you get scared that someone will catch you or your brain keeps adding things to worry about. I smoke weed everyday, its a lifestyle choice of mine. In high school i had a group of friends (not my main group of friends) but they smoked cannabis and just acted STUPID, i feel like this is your type of high, they are goofy kids and im not saying they were immaturely using cannabis but they definitely didn't smoke cannabis for the same purpose i did. Also i had my high change after i first smoked cannabis to the high i get now. After about 4 months of smoking cannabis everyday my high in a sense mellowed out. I enjoyed this high much more. After my use with psychedelics i cant smoke as much weed as i use to, i will smoke a bowl and be cloud nine high, it gets to a point where i don't think i can get any higher (even though i know i could it would just be a waste ;-) ) I recommend you keep smoking and let cannabis change your life for the best as it has changed mine, keep smoking, keep demanding, OVERGROW THE WORLD

Honestly, I don't know why someone would ask OTHER PEOPLE what drugs they should ingest. If you feel better without smoking cannabis, don't smoke it. Pretty simple really.
However, I'm anxious with it, or without it. Nothing soothes my existential angst.

Not true at all. He once enjoyed smoking and was wondering if it is possible to ever get that back and the answer is of course! its all in your mind, literally. I have had bad highs, but I don't let them affect future smoke sessions.

By my own personal experience, I've discovered smoking pot every day is NOT the best thing. Nothing against those who do. It is a simple questions of personality. Some people get the best out of it, for others it can cause the opposite of what a high should be. I'm not saying stoning out on the weekends is a bad thing, because it's not, but for me, when I began constantly smoking, the high turned into something that more depressed me and made me sad and bored.
I still smoke a ton, but I make sure I don't go overboard.

Which part of my post is "not true at all"? I didn't offer any facts, just my opinion. Your criticism is simply not applicable.

I would say try and smoke a low dosage of herb again see what happens, if you freak out and have a bad time then wait another few weeks and try again. Keep doing this until you are sure that herb is not for you.
OR
Don't smoke, I have stopped smoking for over a month now and I don't think I will ever go back to the daily or even weekly use I was doing before. I enjoyed it and never had episodes like you described but I am generally more zen without.
So far I have gone a month without marijuana or opiates, really is a big deal for me.

I have had spells with anxiety over the years. Yes, marijuana can intensify the attack. It doesn't have to in my opinion though.
First, recognize you suffer from panic attacks. Not something to be proud of but, something you will have to recognize in order to deal with it.
Most, stories go with the "almost" passed out. To use your Wal-Mart example. I assume when you felt the dizzying feeling. Your mind started to race with "What if I pass out" questions. Your heart rate accelerated and the attack became intense.
Embrace the attack, or better yet, recognize you are having an attack. Sit down, even if you are in the middle of Wal-Mart. Work on your breathing, deep breath, hold, release. You could even have a paper bag in your pocket like you see in the movies. I wouldn't but, it is an option. Don't try and force you mind to stop thinking but, try to relax. Think of something nice like "watching waves on the beach."
If someone comes by and asks you if you need help. Calm, and direct tell them you suffer from anxiety. That you will be OK, just need a few moments of calm and it will pass. By the time you get this out you will be "right as rain."
Once, you are OK with idea you suffer from panic attacks, the symptoms, and amount of episodes should subside.
Remember, you do not have to worry about having an attack. Many, people suffer from them. It's not a big deal. If you have one, sit, breath, and in a couple of minutes it will be gone.
You should also get a physical. As a previous poster has mentioned you could have diabetes, high blood pressure, or something a doctor could help you with.

Just lay off the pot. It's overrated as all hell anyways and at best makes you slightly dumber and at worst gives the anxiety you experienced.

If you're in a position where you're questioning whether or not to quit smoking cannabis then of course you should quit. Most stoners couldn't quit smoking weed if their life depended on it. Take advantage of the fact that you're not like that. If it doesn't make you happy, it's a waste of money, a waste of time, and a waste of intelligence.

Panic attacks. I get them too. It's all in your head. Relax and meditate, empty your mind, and don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. The more you think about passing out, the more likely it will happen. The passing out could be because you were really fucked up. Were you worrying before you passed out?

Thanks for all the input. There's some really useful advice here, I'm still considering whether to try it again or not, i guess when it comes to it I'll make the decision.
I'm not sure if I'd call what i have a recurring thing already. It only happened intensely two times, once at the concert and once in the bus, shortly after.
The thing is, now that i started thinking about it, it had happened a few times before, always with a common factor. Whenever i had smoked pot, then drank some alcohol, then smoked some more, there'd be a point of the high where I'd start feeling dizzy and lightheaded. Most of the time I'd go to a nearby bathroom, sit and try to calm down till it passed. It'd be all good from that point on, but the time at the concert was worse because i couldn't even sit down in the middle of the crowd.
We'll see what happens... Thanks for all the good advice here so far!

What's that about locked knees?
Edit: Googled it, it could be a reason. Actually it was a combination of things, from not having slept properly that day, added to not having had anything to eat for hours, plus the pot+alcohol thing, and now add the locked knees things. Plus, i started getting scared, which might've ended the job.

Let's now fast forward to the last weeks before i decided to take a break. During a concert, where i had smoked a few joints over the night and had some drinks, a weird episode occurred. I was in the middle of a crowd, and almost passed out. This was very scary, as my friends had to carry me away from the crowd.
A week after that, when i thought everything was fine again, i was riding the bus home. Suddenly i started feeling really scared out of nowhere, and started feeling as if i was going to pass out again. I managed to calm myself down, but it was a very scary incident and made me feel scared of going out again, reviving some of these fear feeling every time i was outside my home for a while. I eventually managed to control it and i can normally go about everyday life without much trouble, but the idea crosses my mind from time to time.
The event that made me decide to take a break was the last high i got. I smoked a joint alone in my house during the night. Out of nowhere, i started freaking out, and couldn't calm myself down. My heart was beating fast, my breathing was heavy, and i was scared. I tried everything, i switched rooms, walked all over the house, but whenever i started thinking about it, I'd start freaking out again. I just wanted it to be over.
I'm not an expert but I have dealt with anxiety and depression issues before and it sounds a lot like those may be the underlying cause of the panic attacks. Alcohol is a depressant and that may have triggered your first attack, and weed can give a sense of paranoia in some cases. After having your first episode you may have thought about how hard it was the next time you got high and had a case of paranoia. I've only had one case where something similar has happened and it was when I was home alone as well. I kept thinking someone was breaking in and I kept hearing things (which were just normal noises that were intensified by the MJ) and I locked myself in my bedroom with the lights on and went to sleep.
My advice: take a little break, smoke only around people, work on breathing techniques for the panic attacks, and DO NOT under any circumstance mix alcohol and weed again. Anxiety+depressant+a chance of paranoia= a bad time
One thing i suggest to help deal with the anxiety is to go buy some herbal tea and incense of your liking and start to practice meditation for about 30min a day...it REALLY helps me

Wow. DEFINITELY Panic Attacks. They can cause you to pass out. I noticed I felt extreme chest pressure, chest pains, faintness, and stiffness in parts of my body at one point and what I did is every time I got a bad thought I'd say a catch phrase to replace the bad thought, "Let it go." while relaxing and meditating, focusing on blocking everything out except darkness. It turned out the chest pains and stiffness melted away so I relaxed knowing it was ridiculous to think anything was physically wrong with me. If you are young and relatively healthy then there can't be anything physically wrong with you. Just relax. It's a shame that you can't enjoy weed anymore because of these silly attacks. You can pull through. Not just so you can get high again but so you never let fear control you in life. Try Googling managing panic attacks/anxiety for further tips. Good luck. I've been there before!
