The clay is apparently very nutrient filled and retaining though.
That's why I use it.

Replace your oil absorber with NAPA oil absorber, you know it's better.

NAPA uses DE, mine uses a nutrient rich clay that has been shown to benefit plant growth.

Mine however get tap or distilled while I'm at school or in the winter
water has nutes in it? How is rain water any different then tap water aside from the lack of chlorine and chemicals.

Infinate thanks cactusdan, i recently rooted a 14" san pedro out this girl was just dying to root. As and ethnobotanical neophyte i was in a rush(for no real good reason other then excitement) to get get her potted. So my novice instinct told me to just grab some miracle-grow cactus soil. I did that and then with-in a week and a half i decided id give her roots a check so id better know when i could begin watering, she did her thing by then. after the first watering paranoia set in about root rot ect. i realized the soil was retaining far too much water so like i should have in the first place i searched the all knowing boards and ended up more confused. found your thread and want to thank you again this is my first ethno grow and have huge plans for the future cheers
