it ultimately doesn't matter how someone is conditioned for this situation... you can always bring out the hippie deep within them and get them to admit the error of their previous ways.

the generally accepted definition of hippie is someone who uses drugs and doesn't work a conventional job. Also, someone who believes that peace and love are the most rewarding and powerful means of achieving tranquility. Thats a "hippie".....
doesn't sound so bad to me... its the conservatards and the hateful souls who do this world the most damage.

My idea of a "hippie" is a 50 year old dude with a huge beard wearing a grateful dead shirt who drives a vw bus. a "hippie girl" is his wife who cooks some good hot dogs.
modern "hippies" could also be referred too as "douchebags".

That's interesting, I kind of started out as you would cool an egotistical hippy, but I've really calmed it down. I no longer associate myself as being a hippie. I meditate for spiritual purposes, which is something that happened after stopping psychedelics.

The majority, not all.
There will always be those superficial stuck up girls who find it necessary to frivolously convey how 'cool' or 'pretty' they think they are. And, yes, I have befriended such girls before. 
But, in retrospect, most of my girl friends are potheads. 
They smoke weed everyday and find hot pockets lovely. Also, they are up-to-date in the political, social, and economical climate; save for a few. I think I'm just lucky that I live in a liberal city. And it definitely helps that there's a liberal arts college here, too.

I'll find someone when I move. I always meet people when I leave this state, but I never meet anyone here.
I can leave the state for a day and I end up hooking up with someone.
I can stay here for a year straight and meet nobody.

I think it's because drama, egotism, gossip, etc. and I mix like oil and water. All my friends are "off the beaten path," think for themselves, down-to-earth, intelligent and very genuine. I'm working on a relationship with one of 'em, it's been fun so far and totally stoked to find out what it can turn into.

Id rather date a redneck girl than one of those really prissy fashion magazine reading princess in pink types.
Really as long as she is somewhat tomboyish. Im not into the really girly girls, I want a girl who wont freak out if she misses a shower one day and wont complain the whole time if I take her camping.

The media tries to get people to avoid being hippies at all costs, even if it means altering the way they present themselves to seem less hippielike.
Conversely so hippies tend to shun mainstream media.
I think there is a correlation there.

yup for the most part all the people are pretty nice and much more laidback than back in the south.
and the scenery here is beautiful. trees everywhere and since fall all the leaves have been changing to red and yellow and looks just simply amazing. the buddha here is top notch and there's really not much i have to complain about living here. well except for the economy but eh the economy is still shit everywhere you go.
there's a surprisingly large amount of homeless here though.
