at the moment I'm actually focusing in on myself right now - getting crap cleared up with the courts / paying off old fines of mine / cleaning up the mess I've made out of my life because of all the stupid choices I've made in the past (generally based around the people that were a part of my life at the time, who all seemed to wanna play offa my ignorance an take advantage of my good nature)

part of what makes me who I am today, in fact, comes right down to being at least a little jaded about the dumb choices I've made trying to help people out on a personal level here, and always having it come right back and bite me in the ass in the end (like when you move in with a friend to help them keep their place after someone moved out on them, only to have them do some dumb shit not two weeks later and get themselves thrown in jail while you're stuck with the lease...or when you pass up on a really good job opportunity so that you can stay behind with your sister and help her get back on her own two feet again, and then have her toss you to the curb the second she gets where she needs to be financially so that now you're left out on the streets with a crappy job that you can't fend for yourself with)

I've made many dumb decisions like these (where I've put other people's needs in front of my own, and wound up shooting myself in the foot because of it) and I'll admit that a big part of who I am is somebody who doesn't even wanna take the risk of getting close to anyone now because I'm afraid that it's just gonna go sour like so many other similar situations in the past...BUT...despite what it took to bring me to this point to begin with - I'm seeing the world in a whole new light now because it

I understand now that even if I were able to help many of these people out along the way - I'm still only affecting a very small portion of the whole, and I'm still only making a difference for the people in MY own little slice of existence (with no real affect on the gestalt of things for the lot of us) which is why I'm focusing my efforts outwardly at this point - through means such as movies, art, and literature - because I know that these are the sorts of things that can get out to the masses...and that can help shape society as a whole towards a different kind of perception

we are all products of our environment here...and if I can do something to get certain ideals out to the masses here, in hopes that people will embrace these types of behaviors, then I will feel as if I did at least *something* to push mankind asa whole in the right direction



and that's more important to me then my own selfish pleasures

the difference between people like me and the rest of the world is that we don't judge our own self worth based off of the people we have in our lives, or the connections we make with one another during our time here...but rather...by the things we accomplish during our time here, and how those accomplishments effect the rest of society asa whole

my life isn't about who I can bring into my world to make things better for myself, so much as it's about what I personally can do for everyone else...regardless if I know these people or not

I stay away from things like relationships because I feel I can do more with my time, without constantly having something (or someone) to preoccupy myself with
