beautiful phish. good to see you. I have never ever found a cluster bigger than two. I kind of get the impression it's thunderdome for them, two mushies enter, one leaves. My clusters are always very young. I've also never (never ever) found them on pinestraw. And especially not in the woods, is that where you are in those pics?

its at the front of a neighborhood in a pinestraw bed behind these big juniper bushes. ive found alot of patches identical to this one but finally one that has easy access and is not right in front of a bunch of houses. I typically find them in the grass first then after looking around i start finding them in all kinds of things. This year i have found weilii in red and black wood chips, fescue and bermuda grass, pinestraw and straight clay. Ive found them under holly bushes, magnolia trees, maple trees, bradford pair trees, sweet gum trees, and of course loblolly pinetrees which are the pines with the longer needles. look at the bedlines in the front of neighborhoods where the grass meets the pinestraw and look for caps sticking up, then just investigate it. it works i promise...

Make a WBS/Grain Transfer Jar. When putting the sclerota in the jar, try to use sterile procedure by dipping it in 3% H2O2.
Big ass fucking lol right there. You ever tried making a grain jar from a section of an indoor fruit? Let alone some contaminated spore covered shit from the yard, haha. Agar is your only chance in hell of getting some good clean weilii jar spawn.
not that big of a deal. i had some mature weilii in the ground away from my patch where i was prb never gonna come back, and there was a flower pot in the woods nearby, so i went and got the flower pot and removed the whole chunk of ground. to perform an expieriment and see if they would grow more, you see, im pretty new to this and its all fun.
nice attitude

I now have four new friends. Not very big, ranging in size from a dime to a quarter. Found them yesterday. I guess if they are found in the same location, smell the same, look the same, and bruise blue, then you do not need to do a spore print.

OK, here we go. I found a mushroom that looks similar, but it has white gills, is fragile, and does not bruise blue (or any color for that matter.) But it smells like the others, a very strong cucumber smell. Sorry, no photos this evening, as the crappy digital camera does not take very good up close macros with flash at night (it severely over-exposes.) I am nearly 100% certain that it is not p. weilii, but wondering what it may be. I guess that it is widely accepted that it must bruise blue if it is active. Any idea what I may have? If I was a blind person, and just smelled them, I would have eaten it..., sorry I have bad manners.

I have found a few like this, I was told mine were sporless weilii. You can compare pics if you like on my post, see if yours resemble them. Only a few bruised out of the bunch, and the gills never darkened up. I have ate both bruised and unbruised weilii and have not felt any difference in strength. Is there such thing as non-active weilii? I think this may be a rumor.

If you are talking to me, you will have to check the waste water treatment plant, I think the spores are floating down the Chattahoochee.

Yuck. I made the mistake of paddling that hooch. Thoroughly disgusting and seriously perturbing, considering it might have been a nice ride, if it hadn't been in sewage.
Gross, Georgia. Understand Ted Turner's daughter is supposed to be looking after that waterway. Well, i'm sure at least her big green house is clean? Pretty sure Lagrange sued Atlanta for some 60k/day or something for the untreated shit.
Better find spores pre-processing!
