I doubt Ythan would like OTD as much if they treated him like trash, the way they do most people, and not with the respect he commands as the owner and founder of the Shroomery.

My point is, Ythan isn't going to close the forum he posts the most in (I was responding to the poster above me, who said he should close it).
He created OTD to get the nastiness out of the pub; a "yin and yang" so to speak. The result is a cleaner civilized pub. The "romper room" was created for the same reason; to get the stupidity out of SA.
Its nice the "feelfamily" isnt scared of OTD - but the demand for an OTD will always be there.
Why did they go on their crusade against OTD in the first place?

Why wouldn't he close it? All things change.
And of course there will always be a demand to act like an immature tough guy, especially when there are no consequences. If these OTD guys acted the way they do on the net in real life, they'd be steady getting their asses whooped. To finish the point, there's also a demand for $8 hookers, but that doesn't mean you gotta be a pimp.

Only once in a while is there a decent thread in otd, but who the fuck wants to contribute to a forum when all it will get you is harassed?

While I share you frustration, I am almost certain none of those goobers has the real life ballz to act that way to anyone but their wife and kids.
If someone walked up to me and called me a nigger faggot, I would loosen their teeth and that would be that. They have found a way to make themselves feel big and bad without having to risk real consequences.
That being said, After the anger and frustration passes, you see them for what they are.

It's a great question with no good answers. For some reason, the standard answer has been that these people "need a place to go". With all that is great about the Shroomery, I don't understand why here needs to be that place.
As if there's not enough places where you can act like a moronic piece of trash.

One fact being overlooked is that the otd members are the largest group of paid supporters for the site. I'm not sure how much it costs to join, like 10 bux or somethin?
I doubt that $150 dollars is enough to buy them a pardon for their worthlessness though.
But they have been here for a long time and Ythan probly feels sorry for them so you have what we got here now.
This is all just speculation on my part though because I know none of them personally.

The thing that makes this whole situation a tad more tragic is that the creator of this website is basically an OTDer. If we were just a regular member, and not an admin, he would probably be hated as much as any of the other people that frequent that forum.

Not sure if I should say this or not but I don;t trip either. I grow purely to make extra cash, and it works well. I view this site as an asset to my business, and since I'm here all the time it would be nice to have a normal place to talk about normal everyday things.
