Taking a picture off someones myspace or website with the intent to deface or slander is considered a criminal act and can be punished. Even though they post pics on myspace its still illegal for you to make a copy of their pic w/o the persons consent and post it to deliberately deface and criticize.
Hahaha,BULLSHIT.

It seems as though posting a picture and slandering on the internet can't ever be a big deal considering even that lady who made a myspace account to harass that girl until she committed suicide was acquitted.
The reason that she was acquitted is that she was charged under the federal computer fraud and abuse act, section 1030. The government alleged that her access to myspace was unauthorized because she violated the terms of service by giving a fake name, when it says that you need to use a real one. She was convicted. Upon appeal her conviction was overturned because making it a federal offense to violate the terms of service would make criminals out of just about everyone.

she (should go to prison because) bullied a girl until the girl committed suicide. I dont understand whats so hard to see why it was wrong what she did and that she should have been punished.
I strongly disagree. Should it now be a federal offense to make someone upset? I believe that even insulting speech should be protected by the first amendment. Its not the fault of the person who spews insults that the insultee was crazy and into suicide.
Regarding the main point of this thread, I do not believe it is accurate to say that its illegal to take a picture from myspace and use it other places in negative ways. You could be sued in civil court for harassment or slander, but that has always been the case and it has nothing to do with myspace.
