To everyone who smokes daily or almost daily: I challenge you!
I am currently on a tolerance break so I can get blitzed again when I start up smoking (I really enjoy the first few times after a tolerance break when I just get absolutely blown and everything feels really trippy like a video game). I have found that I need to take about a one month break every six months to maintain a very low tolerance, where 1-2 hits of chronic keeps me high for an hour. I also don't like spending a ton of money on weed, nor do I like to smoke a ton of weed, because I don't like putting that much smoke in my lungs (even though there is that UCLA study blah blah blah, I just feel healthier when I minimize the amount of smoke I breathe in).
For those who DON'T have a serious medical condition, this contest is for you.
I'm currently four days in without smoking weed, or using any recreational substance.
And yes, I've been smoking weed continuously for like, 4 years. So if I can do it, you can do it.
We'll go by the honor system with this, to whomever wants to participate in the contest. I will announce in this thread when I cave in and light up. I expect anyone else that wants to do this with me, to do the same.

Haha. Alright, I hear ya.
You should definitely try it sometime. The last time I took a tolerance break, I stopped for a month. The very next time I got stoned was just as good as the first time I got stoned...
To me, it's worth the time put in to drop my tolerance to zero. But I guess to each his own..

I hear you, I might take a break in a week or so. I take week breaks here and there to get my tolerance back in place but never a month!

Lol, yeah, I don't know if I'll end up going a whole month or not. Probably two weeks, tops. Usually two weeks is as good as any break longer than that.

It's July 1st, if anything thats a reason for me to smoke MORE. So instead of stopping i'll just smoke your share to since you cant.

I have not smoked in 4 days either. I COULD go without, but I like to be able to get really baked/drunk and go out, hit on women, etc. I could not do that if I got high as FUCK when I smoked (ie after a big break).
I do only tend to smoke 2-3 times a week, though, (Friday, Saturday plus one weekday) because I find any more than that takes away from the experience, and definitely is not good for your health/memory/general productiveness. For me anyways.

a week ago i made my first smoke sesh after a 2 month solid break for a job.
now the video game thing listen to this...
we had my ipod on random and had the tv on mute on discovery channel watching that bear grills survivor guy and honestly not just being baked, but every beat in the song went in step to him.
the best was he was falling/sliding down a cliff, in obvious danger and really happy bubbly music was playing i was laughing so ridiculously hard

Alright. I'm still kinda baked right now but I smoked my last bit a while ago.
Got an audio engineering course I'm doing so I do need a clear head.
No weed from now.. until my course is finished. I gotta hold out for an entire year.

a) It's audio engineering!
b) You can still smoke pot once a week or so and see no adverse effects.

Count me in.
I just finished a week enjoying some good smoke, after a 6 week break. It was the best, tolerance wise. I have just enough left for a camping trip in 2 weeks to last the 4 days we will be camping.
So I just enjoyed one last smoke...taking a deep breath...holding...2 weeks...

I could stop for this contest... but I'd rather get high.
I tried the one month tolerance break before, and really the 'increased effects' uponing returning are so slight I attribute them to placebo more than to a loss of tolerance.
It all depends on what's going on in your mind. I've been smoking every day for 4 years now and I say I get higher now than I did before. My brain understands this molecule full power- and together we can use it in the most efficient way. I get high for hours off just a few puffs if I want. And sure, that may just be another placebo and all in my head.. but regardless of how it happens, I am constantly very hight all the time.

Personally, i feel better in every way without weed, and a lot of my friends agree. Weed is a weak drug that only holds you back imo =[ Shrooms on the other hand 
I'm not saying I didn't like all the times I did it, i valued every experience and thought it gave me.. But lets just say that every benefit i could get from weed i have already gotten, so its time for me to move on.

True... But I like my edibles to be indica heavy, so you just melt onto a couch. Smoking sativa, and really going overboard, can cause some serious mindfuckage.

You are wrong : D there is some really insanely good stuff here so.. I guess it's just the restrictions weed put on you that i don't like.. And of course being a little cloud-headed the next couple of days after. The laziness also doesn't help.
I guess what i'm trying to say is that i enjoy the High of life more than of the weed.

Plus, I laugh more when I'm high/trippin, and laughter is better than everything else put together.

i save my $ to get where i want i wasent high on anything for 3 weeks and went bike rideing and what not and now i got 15 15's and a ounce of killer for a camping trip lol thus i take a brake when times are slow but then i bike ride like crazy and i get flashbacks that last up to 30 mins if i just did a huge bike ride

I have been smoking all day everyday for the last 5 years, and quit a bit before that too. I have to get a new job so I have to join you for a couple of days. Luckily it's only a saliva test so I don't have to go the full month. I'm already 28 hours into it and a friends crop of super just got chopped so time is moving real slow.

im on probation so i can only smoke for a week, or maybe 2 weeks, sometimes only a couple of days at a time; depending on when my next appointment is
so every month, there is a 3 week period where i dont smoke anymore
and im an everyday smoker for 5 years
not a big deal tho, im actually enjoying not being stoned all the time
but when i am high, i get really high and freak myself out sometimes now. its hard to be social when your smoking if you arent used to being high all the time, i sort of feel like im trippin out alittle bit
i stopped using hard drugs a while ago
every once in a while, i might dibble in some pills, but thats very rarely
i dont touch anything else
i love hallucinogens tho, like acid or shrooms, those are my only exception
oh and i still drink too,

I quit everything including weed and alcohol for about 3 & 1/2 years.
I don't think I could have done it without a 12-step program.
I'm glad I did it.

haha probation is a good way to take a tolerance break..for me its not to hard to stop smoking and ive been smoking a lot for 8 years

I smoked every day for years, but I'm on probation currently. I beat the piss tests but you can't cheat on the hair tests, shampoos never work. I've been cold turkey for 7 months or so...

It depends, but they usually watch. In some states it's a felony to cheat on a drug test, the last thing you need is another case.

Hah I also get tested, so going from everyday for about 2 years now I haven't for 3 weeks. Isn't much different except it isn't as easy to relax at times, and things can be a little less entertaining.

Yeah that stuff is good, I'm pretty sure that's what was in Spice Diamond, fuck that stuff is pretty strong, but I smoked legal herb blend daily for a loooooong time
Always managed to get pretty high all the time off them, but you end up using a shit load

I'm in with you! I want to take a few weeks off and let my lungs rest, because when I get back to my hometown ill be vaping most of the time, which im excited for!!
I have about three weeks, ill see if i can go longer, but i want to let 3 weeks elapse so my tolerance goes down and just to take a break!

I've been smoking for 5 years everyday and I stop for a year when I went at my girlfriend house. Never felt so good to smoke back some good herb
