True Disciples
    #10577105 - 06/26/09 04:29 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

I believe they are very few and far between.

This causes God to be mocked. Those who do not know God bring shame to the faith they proclaim through their actions or inactions.

To be a disciple is not the same as being a believer. A disciple walks the talk. A disciple is on a road less taken. A disciple of Jesus is a stranger in this world, and like Moses, presses on to the promised land though the desert and trials of life.

You may not know a disciple by a single encounter with them, but if one is in your daily life, you will not be able to pin them down as a fake like so many others.

I have met many people from all over the world and yet to meet one person who was qualitatively different than anyone else despite their claims.

Greendream's "Religion" in 15 seconds or less:

:paradis: :billseal: + :pope: :puppetmaster: = :chimpglock:

(religion and power) + (old men playing suckers who buy into religion) = (stupid people killing each other acting as pawns)

I've met people who's qualitative differences were could be reduced to the degree of evil within their heart.

You detract from the experience of PS&P for me. I know that's not your intention. God and I forgive you.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. - Proverbs 26:12

How can you be so arrogant when you understand so little about the world. You don't know where we came from or where we are going.

You strike me as a blind kamikaze pilot.

Orgone, I understand what you are saying. What I am getting at is disciples of Christ live the same way whether anybody is looking or not. Their only audience is God. They are not putting on a show.

God is not contained in a book. Throughout history men and women of God have wrote down their experiences with God. Their struggles, their triumphs. Today it is the same with any follower of Jesus. God has revealed his purpose through his son. It takes faith. For some reason God puts faith on about the same level of importance as love.

So then who are some of these real disciples you're talking about?

(This thread reminded me of Slayer.)

From this post I would conclude that you do not apply your biblical quote to yourself.

How silly the true believer.:monkeydance:

The obvious is not always true. The truth is not always obvious.
Icelander is sometimes truthful but obviously, very grumpy.

Mostly here. In my day to day I'm easy going with most folk. But it's so lame here, it's hard to believe that psychedelics would let these people take them.:satansmoking:
