It seems that the election was actually legit. Independent international polls showed that Ahmadinejad was going to win by a factor of 2 to 1 from what I've gathered.
The opposition is more westernized and modern and so we might sympathize with them for that reason, or because we like the idea of rebelling against the government, but it seems they just plain lost.

Yeah, 2 to 1 isn't so unreasonable when you've got more than 100% turnout in some areas.

Any poll carried out before all this shit is unreliable. If the same poll were to be carried out now I'm sure the results would be different.

I don't know whether the election was legit or not. I just don't see the media talking about it.
I'm welcome and eager to read other sources that discuss the legitimacy of the election. You would think this would a key topic to discuss but I don't see many people concerned about it.

I understand that you may not have been paying very close attention to the Iranian elections, but I think I figured out why your poll shows such a lopsided result. This was 3 weeks before the election. The major groundswell of support for Mousavi happened two weeks before the election when he called Ahmadinejad a dictator. Then a week and a half, it was clear that support for Mousavi was increasing by leaps and bounds, and they got out the vote all over Iran. The final turnout was 85%, and the results were called in 12 hours... with PAPER BALLOTS!

The Guardian is one of douchiest newspapers out there. They're like the left-wing equivalent of WorldNetDaily. I wouldn't trust a thing they say without verifying it in a more reputable news source.

As I said, there are some districts that reported more than 100% voter turnout. That's a pretty good indicator of fraud. You can read about several other irregularities here. What's more, it seems the Iranian people believe the vote was rigged. I just can't see all these people risking their lives like this if it was nothing but sour grapes over a free and fair election.

Turn it on CNN Asap if you want to see why that poll 3 weeks before the election does not capture the huge upswelling of support in the past two weeks.

Dammit novasky fucking help me you douche'. Read the above post, these people need all the help they can get, obviously no one would risk their lives if they didnt see problems in the vote, especially when many have already died.
and some advice, stop dealing with these skeptics, most of them bring hardly anything more than a procrastinating analyzation of the problem. The hyper analyze counter claims and they leach. I know how you feel tho, still closed mindedness is nessecary at times, its especially so when time is of the essence.

RT means retweet. You copy and paste a tweet that you feel has important information, and repost it in your update bar.
#iranelection, after you log in, is a category on the side. It's called a trending topic. Click on it to see all the messages about the current violence in Iran.

I sure wish those Iranians the best of luck. They deserve freedom instead of a repressive religious regime with an elected idiot in charge.

I keep expecting everyday that things will calm down over there and life will go back to normal. Maybe it's my fat lazy stupid American perspective, but the fact that it keep flairing up and getting crazier and crazier every day over in Iran is just astonishing. I really wish I could do something to help the Iranian people in their struggles. Watching those videos are just fucking crazy. I really hope the Iranian people get what they want out of this and that the sick fucks who work for the government and killed and maimed protesters get whats coming to them.
This is just unbelievable.

Maybe it won't be too long before the chaos hits America.
G'damn this is a fun time to be alive, and it's only gonna get funner. Petty human bullshit drama at it's best. Should make for one spectacularly loud and colorful last performance before it's curtains for this archaic form of living.

I vowed to myself I would work like a dog at this. But now, it's 10:30 in the morning and I'm just getting out of bed. I did get up earlier around 8:00am, but I just lied in bed for a while, and then...jerked off. I've got to stop masturbating, it makes me too lazy. Stop it Albert...stop it.
