Yeah right now.... wait till we learn more about the structure of reality, our brain and the landscape technology has to offer us.

Wow, you claim that the brain does not work like a computer, and not only did you back it up with ZERO evidense, you admit you have no fucking clue what your talking about. Read it back out loud dude, you make no sense!

It was my contribution to the thread after having watched that video with Terrence McKenna in it a little above my post. Did you watch it?

"A human brain does not work like a computer does. We don't even know everything about the human brain."
How is that hard to understand?
You seriously want me to prove that the brain doesn't work like a computer does? Hmm.. do we think in binary? Is our brain made of transistors? Do we have volatile or non-volatile memory?
We build computers and understand them quite easily. Do we manufacture brains?
I know very little about the human brain. Even scientists will admit that. If the human brain and a computer were so similar.. how come you can't build a brain then?
Sure you can give a computer input devices, like cameras and microphones, and program it to recognize or mimic human activity, we can even program it to "learn", but it's still not a human brain and nowhere near as complex.
Do you want me to go on about this or do you get my point?
EDIT: Evidence doesn't have an "s". Just thought I would point that out to you for future reference.

You say that we don't know everything about the brain. And then make a declarative assertion saying "It does NOT work like a computer"
How can you be certain it doesn't work like a computer when we don't know everything about it?
yes i get your point. But in the future technological advances i can see us having a complete understanding of the brain. And as technology is getting faster and more complex, the human brain is beginning to look more like a mirror of a complex fast computer.

I get your point as well.
You don't have to know everything about both subjects, if you know enough about one to know it isn't like the other.
Plus, we have no "operating system" standard like that. Each and every brain is different, because we all experience different things in our life. Even when comparing two identical twins, their brains are not going to be the same.
A processor is a processor. It's made of millions of microscopic transistors. Transistors are either on or off. Very simple stuff here.
A brain however, is different on so many levels. I don't know shit about it and neither do you.
I do know enough about computer technology to know that it's nothing like the human brain though.
EDIT: Also, computer electronics are constantly evolving. The way we process data right now using transistors isn't going to last forever.
Google quantum computing. It's still in it's infant stages. It is also nothing like today's current computers.

Here is the shirt Joe was wearing on the show. Badass with the shaman gorilla and his third eye with the DMT particles behind him, and the weed and shrooms. He said hes coming out with a lineup of shirts pretty soon.

Come on, look at this logically. Of course there are differences between a brain and a computer, that's why this is a comparison. But fundamentally, they are very similar. They both function as information storage and processing devices, and they both function as tools of communication. Honestly, I think of computers more as extensions of the brain rather than mirrors of it, but the parallel can still be drawn. I don't know enough about the brain to say whether it's fundamentally syntactical, but I know that language is, which makes a major brain function similar to how a computer operates.
Basically the reason I imagine the brain as a computer is that I think of all animals as basically biological machines, and we as the most complex of these machines have a supercomputer nervous system centered in the neo cortex. If you use a little imagination the whole parallel is really cool and honestly obvious.
