hahaha! very true man... if that was an ovoid it would be super sick (not to say that it still isnt!) :wink:

i also think that pan cyans are a little more potent than ovoids... or so iv heard...

had a great time at my trusty field this morning. I harvested roughly 222 fresh grams of Pan Cyans. I also found some non-blueing Pans that I am guessing are Pan Cinctulus (Subbs), or mabey something like Pan Papilionaceus. Some of these are the largest Cyans I have ever harvested. A few of the caps are larger than a silver dollar. And I'm in the process of getting a shit load of prints.

are these Pan Subbs? they leave black spore prints, and the bigger ones were growing right off a cow patty. there is noticable reddish/brownish bruising, but not blue

they're definitely out there now, go get em' boys

Panaeolus those other ones look like subbs to me. I would love to get a hold of one of those prints from those copes, we don't have them in my part of the world. Great finds!

went back to my field because I only looked through a quarter of it yesterday. today, I found around 240 fresh grams from a different area of the field.

I know there are more active blueing Pans than just Cyanescens. And I'v been noticing slight differences between specimens that I'v been finding. For example, I see these on the fields sometimes. They have a much more flatter cap than an average Pan Cyan. The Cyans normally have a dome shape to the caps, and not as thick of a stipe. Sometimes these flatter ones look like cubes until you get up close.

I only took photos of this beefy one. But I'v seen pins that have these features as well.
So, basically I'm not sure if these are all Cyans that I'v been finding recently.

anyone else ever find Pans that look this.?

Those are some of the biggest Pan Cyan's I've seen Panaeolus!

I saw one of those big flat ones last Friday, at first I thought it was a cube, but there was no veil so I left it thinking that it was an old green gill or something yuckie. I'll grab 'em next time.

I found 105.2 grams of Copes and 80.3 grams of Cubes.
The one huge cube in the palm of my hand is 41.3 grams.
We are definitely in cube season now because am very far down south if I have there should be all over Florida.

here's a couple more of those from this morning, all found on one cow patty.

edit: these photos were taken right when I got home, and there isn't much bruising in the photos.
so i checked the stems from these a couple hours later. The bruising wasn't as intense as normal looking Pan Cyans, but every stem did show some blue bruising.
