I have a similar problem, im sure you mean vapor not smoke.  It seems as if they put the temo gauge to far down so the higher temperture is correct.  What i usually do is start at 210C then work my way all the way up to 245C.  When i take my shit out it is BROWN.  Looks like tobacco.  So i would say it works well, and gets me hella chopped.

Like i said we basically have the same unit, and they had a problem with the heat sensor before that they said was fixed, but i still think it could use a little work on the heat sensor placement.  Otherwise this unit is tits!

If you guys are ever unsure if you're getting big vapor clouds... make sure you test your unit in really good lighting.

Vaporizer + good lighting = massive clouds around the room.

I hit my vapes in bed at night, zero lighting, can't even see an exhale... but shit I'm getting baked.

dudes i just got high w/ my vaporgenie using ... damn i don't even know how to describe this small an amount of weed

okay like a tic-tac
like picture the size of a tic-tac that is how much weed

so sorry but imo ... nail in the coffin for the burning vs vaping debate
vaping definitely gets you higher for the same amount of bud

For $55, the VaporGenie is the shit!

Requires a bit of patience and skill, but once you figure it out, hits are thick enough to make most cough.

Any vape is going to smell....Think about it

When i have just a single little nug in my room, my room gets damn stinky and sometimes 1/2 the house. So when you heat up the bud during vaporizing think about all the terpenes and oils that are going to release their aromas even that much more....

Never been a problem for me.

I set up my Silver Surfer on my desk/in front of PC. I can sit there for 30 minutes with a 0.4g whip hitting non-stop, blowing into the middle of the room, even with windows shut.

Open up window, no fan, no air-fresh... 10 - 15 minutes and I'm good to go.

With this PD now, I sit RIGHT next to the window, blowing vapor out the window it's pretty much ZERO smell. I've had people come in WHILE vaporizing and I throw it under the bedsheets... nothing.

The smell does dissipate quickly, especially if you have window open. I can barely smell it my self but i know people that aren't around bud normally or smoke have much more sensitive noses to the aroma of bud. My nose isn't that sensitive to the smell of weed anymore and when i have as little as a gram in my room i can smell it when i walk in, so i know when i vape it is going to for sure smell a little bit....

ive only heard bad things about the VaporGenie, it seems that most things that are on the cheaper side tend to have mixed reviews... since its impossible to get the right temperature using just a lighter :P

i think its good for people who just want to give something a try, but for another 100 (which pays it self off so quick) get a real vape

I ended up purchasing an easy vape (similar to vapor bros). after some trial and error I settled on 348*F is where I see just some slightly thick vapor and I can feel that burn in my lungs.

I assume the digital display is more for effect and that it isnt accurate so I am going to do some temperature measurements using a cooking thermometer.

does anyone know at what temperature kief vaporizes? I am guessing a lower temp around 300*F.

whats the best temp overall?

oh, and the high is very clean. I feel very up and motivated. No couchlock. I actually paced my living room trying to decide what to do, for like 10 minutes.

so, I am pleased w/ the purchase.

Don't worry about the temp, it's not accurate.

It is in no way a reliable method to tell the temperature passing the herb... just think of it as a glorified analog control, digital is not needed. With a whip vaporizer, you could set it on 300 and combust/cherry your herb, or set it on 450 and not get any vapor (drawing like a madman)... temp is irrelevant in these designs.

Just cook your herb to an even brown, no black.

It should be smooth, but at the same time large amounts of vapor should irritate your lungs slightly (THC and all).

Should smell lightly of popcorn with the last bit of green going away when you're nearly done, if you're getting vapor but a thick burnt popcorn smell (should be brown), dump it.

Hitting my PD right now, baked as :vaped:

I imagine that the digital display isnt calibrated properly, but I am guessing
that every time I turn the display to 348* it will reach the same temperature,
it just wont be 348*

I think you're misunderstanding me, this isn't a dig at your vape, it's just the reality.

What it's trying to display is the temperature of the air hitting your herb, this is not correct though, because the thermo is in a different spot... most of the times at the heating element.

When you draw on a whip vape, depending on fast or slow, you could varying it by 100's of degree's with ease... so what use is the digital vape really?

The only time you can compare temps is with force air units (extremes, herbalaires, volcano's) since the air flow is a constant.

Use your senses, you will get the knack of it... I haven't scorched a single bowl in multiple months out of 4 different vaporizers, the technique is the same for all of them :vaped:

lol, I know you werent insulting my vape :poshdance:

I misunderstood you the first time. what your saying is attempting to
measure the temperatures to get an accurate reading as you inhale
is pointless and impossible?

Yep, digital on a whip vape is no different to an analog control at all.
