Seriously, why would anyone want to be controlled by a member of the opposite sex?

I dont know (m)any happy couples. in fact all i see them do is fight nonstop.
I'm happy being single and doing whatever the fuck I want, knowing exactly where all of my money goes, etc. I just wish i got laid more than i do, which is basically not at all.
fleshlight, you say?

If couples are more miserable than single people, then why would anyone choose to be in an exclusive relationship? There are already too many people on this planet, so the "We need to reproduce." excuse is obsolete.

people choose to be in exclusive relationships b/c that is what you're supposed to do.
Go to school, graduate, get job, meet guy/girl, get married, have babies.
obviously they arent as happy as they thought they would be, or pretend to be, b/c over half of them get divorced in the long run. another 30 percent or so just bear it b/c there is too much money at stake, or they think they'll go to hell, or they think their children will become criminals.
the remaining 20 percent are reptilian, and are just trying to appear normal.

I think over 50% of married couples eventually get divorced. It's interesting that you mention how money is a big reason why people choose to stay married. I think if you have kids, then you should stay married for the sake of the child until the child becomes independant. I know alot of kids from broken homes and they could've been a lot better of if they had both of their parents.
I really want to believe in reptilians, but I can't because I've never seen one. Show me the proof, damn it!

we're not living in the stone ages any more. we can survive for longer periods of time. there's no real 'survival of the fittest' so to speak...
people can do whatever they want to and they partly usually just bored and have babies :p... but yea as someone said, due to adaptation...
do you think genes do their research on earth's current population?

Not all relationships are like this. I'm in a committed long term relationship but I am allowed to fuck other people. We plan to spend the rest of our lives together and neither one of us wants kids.
Maybe you just fail at meeting good partners?

Same situation here. It leads to more sex, better emotional support, sharing of economic resources, sharing of household chores. Nobody is kept on a leash. No marriage or kids; either partner can leave if they feel that is best for them.

That seems like the best kind of symbiotic human relationship, but few people are like this because it is not the norm in our society. Don't blame me that I have "failed" at meeting good partners.

Anything chris rock says is incorrect. Talk about one dumb nigger.
Relationships are built from fear up my friends.
The worry of what others think. The worry of what you think you think. Money worries. Getting laid worries. Loneliness worries. Worry Worry Worry......and relationships ease that worry.........AND THEN CAUSE MORE.
Fear makes the world go round folks.......add 50% hope......and you have yourself a never ending cycle of bullshit.....
Or is it amazing?........
