Most of all, I'm glad I learned this before it came time to vote for him again.

Yes hes truely proving to be the anti christ. Also he is doing the opposite of what he said he was going to do. Not in just this issue, but in everything.
Reelected fuck no.
Ralph nader will have my vote.

Btw: to Mr Obama who do you think got you elected anyways? The people online. Who helped support your campaign? The people online. Who now wants to see the country fail? You.

I'd vote for Obama again, I think he is doing a great job compared with all the other presidents I have seen in my lifetime.

I agree with that statement. It is not a good economic arguement. We should not use the situation to get what we want. We should state the real reasons for legalization. Tearing apart familys, destroying lives, people getting murdered, Greedy government agencys, loss of revenue, giving billions of dollars to legit criminals and last but not least principle. I am not a big fan of obama. But im not a hater either. I understand the man must choose his words carefully. Im more pissed at the people in the background that applauded. These people do not represent the majority. They clapped because the person next to them was. Obama should not make the same mistake bush made by surrounding himself with people thet agree with everything he says. Either way, we fight the good fight and in the end WE WILL WIN THIS!!!

I love the enthusiasm but you implying that, when the president address the people about the current economic crises, that "its not a good economic argument" to consider legalizing the #1 cash crop in the WORLD... well, WHAT would be "a good economic argument" IN YOUR OPINION?

Please remember, the President works for the PEOPLE as does the government. The only way that they gain power is when we sit by and do nothing... of course, when this happens, the government walks all over, telling you what to eat and what not to eat. Listen to this economic argument... When the MAJORITY of the PEOPLE say "legalize marijuana to save our economy" they (the government) better fucking jump up and down ready to sign that law. The only power they have is what we allow...

Yeah I get what you're sayin. The reasons I suggested just seemed a little less argueable. My little bro is in the joint for the next 3 years so mabey im a little biased. But I guess it's really money over people when it comes to our gov. And if thats how it has to happen then so be it.

I am not entirely sure all hope is lost. That was a bad joke on his part, and its telling was definitely not a good sign. But remember the basic context it was brought up in. Perhaps Obama's sympathies for pot just do not have anything to do with the economy, or possibly he does not find this as a feasible vehicle to legislation. I still have hope for Obama as a moderate political figure.

I don't know why people want marijuana to be legalized. I hope it never gets legalized for a couple of reasons:

1) Local dealers would lose their jobs.
2) It wouldn't be as fun because part of the fun is trying not to get caught at school, work, etc.
3) The government would tax the fuck out of it.
4) There would probabaly be only one or a limited number of strains.

This has me seriously motivated to do further research on the truth anout marijuana and the negative effects on prohibition on society and the economy. It will be very in depth, persuasive, and will be supported by numberous sources. And then I will submit a copy of the complete file to every congressman and woman I can find the email of.

Obama, lies we can believe in.  Better than all other recent presidents (which is saying a whole lot).

I think that Obama is better than McCain would have been.  McCain would have passed a stimulus bill in may that would have given half the $ that Obama's did.

Fuck that shit. I didn't support Obama just so he could bide his time and play a game just to make sure he gets that second term. I thought this guy was actually going to do something. We've come this far with pro-marijuana laws...

My state is awaiting a medical bill now and everything seems to have been in order for legalization...Then this shit? Fucking government..If it isn't one thing...it's another..

Fucking Presidential "GAME." This our country your running, buddy. Not monopoly.

Yeah, aim low, fuck yeah. What have you lived through, Reagan, Clinton, the Bush duo, maybe Ford and Carter? Kennedy was great, gonna reveal secret hings happening in the government, but he was shot(by his driver, it's in videos everywhere on youtube).

People are sheep, they fucked up, if you voted Obama, if you voted McCain, you voted disaster. I can't believe firefox doesn't have Obama in its spellcheck list yet.

i'm happy to see someone expressing gladness.. that's what the psychedelic experience is all about, being happy...

i'm happy to see some people in this thread actually get it (not you who i quoted)

i'm happy to express that i caught the sarcastic tone in your post

i'm happy you're blaming obama

people need to grow up. posts like the one i've quoted are ridiculous and for fuck's sake anger won't get us anywhere in marijuana reform, except looking like a bunch of idiots. try hope for a change, and maybe, just possibly HELP with the change that IS happening. you also need to recognize that even though it's not good news that obama opposes marijuana legalization for economic recovery, it's GREAT news to have the PRESIDENT talking about marijuana without saying we'll catch you criminals... it's also great news because it makes THE NEWS... no such thing as bad publicity, especially at this point when we have large public voice and our numbers and support are growing exponentially.

negativity is a fool's treasure, try a half full glass for a change.

make sure YOU make it happen, WRITE LETTERS, MAKE CALLS, SEND EMAILS, ORGANIZE, SPEAK UP!!!!!! (oh and don't make good people working for an honest cause, like me, look like an ass with your anger...)

In case you didnt know this is america and we have the right to express feelings,  as long as it dosnt harm someone.  And as for your comment of... don't make good people working for an honest cause, like me, look like an ass with your anger.  First off I assume your a kid or college kid, and secondley you probably borrow money from mommy and daddy, You have dirty dreads / cause you think its cool and probably go on tour alot and never get a shower and thats why people dont take your activism seriously so for all of us well dressed americans that donate descent sums of money and portray our selves as hard working people with families, maybe you should get a bath and quit making us look so bad with all the public stoner jokes latley I'm thinking their getting that mentality from interviews or pic's of you,
Oh and peace family
