Totally man, I would feel so much safer knowing that if my plane was ever jacked the pilot could spray the cabin with steamy terrorist brains while quoting dirty harry. That's a cool 2 mil that can go towards better things.

Aren't there still undercover air marshals on the plane with guns? If so then the pilots don't really need them.

I'm not sure I want the pilots to carry a gun, they have enough responsibility as it is flying the plane. Put a strong barricade on the door to the cockpit that's only unlockable from the cockpit and an armed (one pistol) federal agent in civilian clothes in the cabin. Then the pilots would be able to concentrate on their primary duties & not worry about anything else.

Also newsmax is a blatantly right wing site, so I would get a counterpoint and not take what it says at face value.
Also They don't say how big the budget for this program is. Is $2 million even significant? Seems like peanuts these days.

Ya, it is pretty right wing. I'm not sure how much the money will impact the program. All I'm saying is either the pilots should be armed or there should be someone who is armed on the flights.
