a great deal, a professor at DeVry here in atlanta gave his 3rd year students a test on basic computer crap, mostly terminology, he had 2 out of 70 students that passed it, he asked me to take the test (I was a friend of his daughters) and having no formal training figured I'd fail miserably like the others, I aced the test and he wondered what the hell was wrong with the retards he was teaching... it was his first year at the school
the problem with tech schools is they're targeting the people that dont want to stick it out at a school, the ones uninterested in doing the work to get where they want to be, they are aimed at the slackers and those looking for the fast route to an executive washroom, unfortunately a lot of people that just though it was legit get mixed up in that crap
they have certificate programs, not degrees, it's like graduation from the 5th grade, it's meaningless

If you are looking for a tech school look for a real tech school. We have a couple of good ones in Washington state. They do drug test for certain classes like the diesel mechanics course because you will be driving semi's. ITT and all those fly by night schools are not worth a crap. Here is a couple of examples of a reputable tech schools. They offer real programs with real training. That is what you want to look for. I actually work with someone who is a teacher at the first school.

-------------------- 1) Cars can hurt you.
2) You cannot fly.
3) It's never a good time to die.
4) Taking your clothes off will draw attention.
5) Keep your mouth shut at all times while in public.
6) Although you may see things that are not there, you won't NOT see things that are there.
7) Don't forget how to breathe.
8) Only carry: a house-key, some loose change, and your address in your shoe.
9) Nobody can tell that you are tripping until you tell them "I'm tripping".
10) No matter how fucked-up you think you are, you'll eventually come down.

haha me and my cousin were just talking about this very thing about these trade schools. We were watching day-time TV aimed at the slackers prisoner talks about...I know someone who went to an ITT tech and they can't get shit for work. Finding a good R.O.P trade education in some kind of trade like welding, then joining a union would be way better than doing the TV advertised "tech schools".

I'm sure none of those places would drug test, but you'd be better off going to a certified community college or trade school instead.

thats exactly what it is... an AA is what a high school diploma was fifteen years ago, you aren't going to find a lot of quality jobs with an AA even, but you will certainly be much better off getting one then not.
