I know it's not the manly thing to do, but I wear gloves. I have super soft hand that my wife and children love, and I'm not fond of the pain of messed up hands.

I did such a good workout yesterday. Someone was using the 16/20kg bells when I got to the gym so after a warm up I did some Deadlifts, and then 15 TGU with each arm with a 12kg bell. I then moved onto the 16 and did a few sets of snatches, but I need to smooth out my form so I will need to work on that next time.
To end it off I decided to see how long I could go 30s on 30s off doing swings with a 20kg. I ended up going for 17 minutes, with about 17swings per set that is about 289 swings in 17 mins. At the end I felt like I could just keep going on, but I was late to meet my roommate so had to go. I am getting excited to see how far I can go next time.

I am getting ready to make 1001 swings with the 28kg in just a few moments...

Well, I got exactly what I intended...1001 with a 28kg. Now on the path to 1000 with the 32kg. I have noticed since I started hitting really high swing numbers that my punches in Krav Maga class have gotten much snappier and more powerful.

I bet! Speaking of which, you never answered my inquiry a few pages back: What do you think of krav maga? If i end up in DC, I'm going to give it a try - there's a dojo right in downtown. -----------------
As far as my workout today goes - I'm fucking beat. I started my temp job today, didn't get much sleep last night, and was fucking exhausted by the time I got home. I wanted to skip my TGU day, but I forced myself
3/11/09
Warmup: -Halos 3x7 (24kg) -Squats 3x10 (24kg)
TGUs: -16min TGU for 16 reps each side with the 16kg
Cooldown: -Abs -Stretchesssssss
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I've decided I have too many financial obligations to meet before I can go dropping money on a RKC session. I think I'm going to just keep upping my weight in the PM, and then work on my C&P and Snatch in my spare time - and whenever I feel comfortable enough to enter the ROP, then I'll go in at that point in time.

I think Krav is a great really hands on system. All practical no kata. It is pure hand to hand combat. If you like mixing it up with full and near full contact during practice it is the deal, BUT if they have any Systema instructors there take that instead. It is just as practical, but much deeper.

That is how you be consistent. Consistency is THE key to success...in all things. Sticking it out when things are bad builds character and will.

I also got over 1000 (1003) with the 53lb (24kg) kettle bell. Meams, you will love Krav Maga. It is an intense work out but you don't realize it until it is over. While you are doing Krav Maga you are consumed You are not thinking about anything but what you are doing right at that moment.
Sort of like rock climbing, only closer to the ground

Yeah, I'm sure i'll love it. Speaking of which - that Systema video was sick. That big instructor was badass with that punch. Where the fuck was he hitting? The bottom of the sternum?

Systema uses LOTS of pressure point strikes, so little force is actually needed. Students are taught to receive punches as well as give them. Systema is ALL full contact all of the time.....no pads usually. The stuff is taught to Russian Spetsnaz (Special Operations).

Goddamn this job is killing me. I haven't been able to get to sleep the last two nights in a row: day 1 and 2 of work. Fucking beat right now but a new episode of Greys Anatomy is on at 9 (don't make fun ).
I tell ya' one thing - this whole "having a job" thing is going to cut my body fat % down drastically. I can't just eat all day long like when I had nowhere to go all day. Now I have to eat a quick breakfast (bowl or 2 of cheerios), pack my sandwitch & banana for lunch, and then eat a healthy post-workout dinner around 7.
Its a physical impossibility for me to NOT get into better shape

It sounds like a job is just what you needed. My son was home for about a month this fall and I noticed that while he was not working/going to school he put on some weight. He was still active, doing kettle bells with me and Hue, running, doing body weight exercises. We don't keep junk food around the house either. It was just boredom.
He is back to being a lean, mean (beautiful) monster now. I bet you will be one too

Good job...just keep adding more each time. You will be ready for ROP in a couple of weeks I would think.

Yessirrrr. I'm pretty excited for it- I'm debating what Ima do on my variety days... prob swings one day and TGU the other with the 24kg - moderate effort, nothing too intense. Of course, that plan is based off of ZERO experience or knowledge, so please make recommendations if you have some

Nice, I'll be sure to use it then.
Well - today was disappointing. I'm at my parents house for the weekend hangin out with family, and a series of events just happened to pile up that made it so I couldn't work out the way I wanted to. In essence, I had a GIANT lunch - which prohibited an afternoon workout... and then had a GIANT dinner - a bit earlier than I would have liked, which prevented my evening workout.
Don't get me wrong - I tried to have my TGU day. About 30min ago I went to warmup, with 24kg halos, and could only do a couple. Squats were off-balance and tiring. I didn't even attempt to do a full TGU workout with the 16kg - instead, I decided I would give the 24kg a few TGU reps.
Well, here it is:
3/14/09
Warmup -Halos 1x5 (24kg) -Squats 1x10 (24kg)
TGU -3 reps each side with 24kg (took about 5min though, so it's "in line" with the PM).
Cooldown -quick stretch

Yesterday I did the stoner`s kettlebell challenge 420 swings with a 20kg in 21 minutes. After smoking my vaporizer of course. I know what you mean about the stopping for your hands though. I tore up my hands , I took off three calluses and now my hands are raw in places, but I feel great.
