Yeah, almost.  I'd be more obsessed, but you can only work out but SO often.  Believe me, if I could get better progress/gains from working out morning & night, then i'd definitely do it.

I think it'd probably be overworking my body though :frown:

Welp, just got done :awesome:  The 24kg was harder to handle in my halos than anticipated.  I'm just a SMIDGITT too weak to halo it with perfect form, but I'd imagine after today's workout & tomorrow's TGU session, I should be up to par.

My swings (with the new-and-improved form) were SO GREAT today.  They just felt right.  For the first time ever my GRIP was actually strugglin.  I usually get winded LONG before my grip even starts to weaken, so - good progress.  The numbers turned out good too (and I didn't have to take a break in the middle of my man-makers).

Today's numbers:

Warmup
- 3x5 Halos (both direction) w/ 24kg
- 3x10 Squats w/ 24kg

Swings
- 12min 30:30,  243 w/ 16kg

Abs & stretching cooldown.

Overall - I'm pretty happy.  Now that I've improved my swing form, I think I'll be able to push the 12min man-makers out to 15min and beyond over the course of the next few weeks.  500, here I come!

Are you seeing any physical results from this? Are you more shredded, bigger, more likely to have Coaster ask you on a date?

Fo' Sho'.  Like I said a few posts ago - if i could only stop eating massive amounts of food at night, I'd be ripped.

I'm only 4.5 weeks into the PM, so there's plenty of progress to be made.  I'll post a before/after picture in here once I bump up to the 24kg for the PM.

Getting shredded takes a little more than 30 minutes of work a day. Work out 2 times a day...once for 50 minutes in the morning and again in the evening, then maintain a strict and clean diet with a slight calorie deficit. In a year you will be shredded.

Don't worry about looks. In my Krav Maga class many there get gassed quickly and they have very low body fat. I never get winded or tired during practice. It is performance that is the key to life altering change.

I'm such a small-framed guy that I expect to see some relatively substantial gains in size once I bump up and start usin the 24kg regularly.

My back & shoulders have gotten so developed since the start of the PM.  In a few weeks when i start the ROP w/ he 16kg it'll be time to hone the rest of the body.

And those warmup squats holdin the KB, with the tension from Naked Warrior thrown in has REALLY developed my quads & hams.  That extra tension makes such a difference.

How do you like Krav Maga?  I considered it for a while, but moved to an area that didnt have any training facilities.  I did Aikido for a while, but gas got expensive and classes got more difficult - I eventually had to stop goin.

I already decided I was going to give krav maga a try if I end up moving to DC - there's a dojo (dont know if they're called that in that particular martial art) located in the downtown metro area.

No doubt changes will happen, but many changes cannot be seen. Over on Dragon Door Adam Glass has a small female doing 32kg getups and she is not ripped...but she is strong. She is dogging the performance of guys my size (6'4"). Strength is not body comp and body comp has no bearing on strength.

In a year? That will be easy for you. My largest bell is 32kg, but a getup with it is a joke. I am ready to start using the bulldog and the beast. It has been 1 year for me. 12 months ago I could not strict press 16kg without a push press.

Hey hue, how many snatches could you do with a 16 consecutively with 1 arm when you started out?

I can get about 7-10 off with each arm until my form starts to go and I need to stop.  Given I only weigh 150ish and just started using kettle bells.

At the end of my workout today I tried to do 20kg swings 1min on 1min off, only got to three sets until I was done, kettle bells have brought my workout intensity up so much.

Is there a way to hold the bell for a TGUs so it doesn't hurt your forearm?  Is it just holding it a bit back so it doesn't have so much force on your arm?  Also TGUs are just amazing, I cannot do them very well or much yet, but they always give me a great workout.  All these new kettle bell exercises has gotten me so excited for the gym(luckily my university gym invested in a set of kettle bells recently), its awesome.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

There's a BUNCH of videos on Youtube, and I've seen a couple of websites for personal trainers that have some good ones too.

Man, I am salivating at the chance to start this!! :drooling:

I weigh a bit more, but when I started I could get maybe 20 each side, but by the time I could do ROP in Enter the Kettlebell (about 2 months in) I made 200 snatches with it in 10 minutes. My latest record is 532 snatches in 35 minutes with a 24kg....oh yeah did I mention that I NEVER get out of breath? Snatches are strong medicine. It tastes bad, but it has a powerful effect!

Quote:

This seems to be the deal. The impact of the kettlebell on the forearm gradually compacts the muscle and bone and toughens the area. Ones technique also improves. Both factors leads to a state of no pain in this regard in about 3 months of regular use. Until then it is best to suck it up and go on. Using protection leads to bad technique, and it also means you will have this problem longer. This is also true for palm protection...don't get hooked on it! Your snatches will then be limited by it. Always stop BEFORE hand damage occurs if possible. I sometimes get carried away and go farther and I always regret it.

Give kettlebells one motivated year of your life used intelligently, and you will be amazed at the result...in every aspect of your life. You will be strong, super energized most of the time and you will rarely get sick. It is no wonder that people get fanatical about it. I feel the same way about this as I did about acid when I first tried it years ago...I wanted to turn everyone on...lol!

Oh yeah - minute of strength is no joke.  Man, my body is tight today from all those swings yesterday.  Grip feels a little worn aswell.

Cannashroom - a few pages back I had the same concern about the KB hurting my forearm during the TGU.  It's only been a week or two since then and it doesn't bother me anymore at all - you get used to it quick.
