No. I found mine in my garage, lol. A quick google can lead you to what ya want. People told me a slant was too aggressive for beginners, but I havent any problems. Let the tool do the work and your golden.

Well fuck... I took my Merkur 34C to my girlfriend's place to shave and it managed to fall out of my backpack today while I was in classes. I'm tempted to just buy another Merkur 34C, but I figured why not try out another razor?
Do you guys have any suggestions? I kinda want something with a more aggressive angle than the 34C, or an adjustable angle model. What ultimately matters to me the most is: 1) How does it cut longer whiskers? I'm talking 3-4mm whiskers because I go a while between shaves 2) Least amount of razor burn possible (Probably dictated more by the blade than the handle/razor) 3) Closest shave. Does aggressive angle = closer shave?
Any recommendations and/or advice are appreciated!
Random side note: The Merkur 34C was in a cell phone case I never used. I'm sure someone's gonna find it and think "HEY SWEET! A PHONE!" then open the case and think "Uhhh... what the fuck is this thing and why is it in a lecture hall?"

i shave with an old school gillette red tip super speed. nice heavy handle and specifically designed to give an aggressive shave for people with heavy beards.
razor burn has more to do with sharp blades, proper amount of lather and good technique than anything else. what brand of blades have you been shaving with and how often do you change out the blade?
here is a shot of my kit:

We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

Merkur 34C/Derby Extra is the most acclaimed combi. If money is not an issue, just about anything by Merkur is a winner. You might try a slant if you're a pro shaver.
A second leading brand is Parker. Cheaper and more aggressive. I use my Parker 22R when I have long whiskers and when they are shorter my Merkur.
You might want to try a TTO (twist to open) "butterfly" razor, for ease of blade cleaning and replacement.
Or go for a vintage Gilette Super Speed as said, really great razor.
I have a whole bunch of razors laid out, all charged with a blade, ready to choose from. All in all, I'm most fond of my trusty Merkur 34C. Theres enough aggression but a lot of forgiveness if you shave a bit sloppily. I keep coming back to it.
Just saying.

I use the Parker 91R with Feather blades.
Yes, I know that is a rather aggressive combo...but I have seriously NEVER had a shave like I get with the Feather blades. No nicks!

Thats how my previous razor worked I think. You unscrewed the handle and the thing came apart. Is that how butterfly razors work or am I missing something?

the bottom of the handle turns and opens two "barn doors" on the top of the razor. then the blade is easily replaced and you can clean it without having to disassemble anything.

I just grow my beard for a month or so then burn it off with lighter. I also did some investigative research of my own and discovered that I can save money if I use matches instead. Lucrative

Yeah I guess that works... But burnt hair smells like shit. And second-third degree burns are kinda painful.

That's why science needs to invent a new chemical applicant that shields your derma from open flames. like some sort of dry ice serum that you can apply topically and then light your face on fire with out all the irritating consequences of being cooked alive. TM Fire Fighters could rock the stuff and just completely p4wn the fuck outta structure fires. At the very least I think it would make for a good episode of Fringe.

Got the Parker 99R today and let me say this: Holy fuck! I never knew there would be such a difference between razors. At first when I tried shaving with it like my 34C it didn't cut the hairs even close to short enough. I used to use my 34C angled so that more of the guard hit my face. With the 99R I had to angle it so that the curved part in the middle of the blade was almost flush with my skin, the blade was at maybe a 30-45 degree angle.
Once I figured out the angle that it cuts the closest, the shave got a LOT closer than the 34C ever gave me. Also made me bleed a hell of a lot more. I love the heft of this razor, the twist-to-open barn door opening for blade changes/cleaning, and the length/design of the handle. The handle is about 4 inches long and has that old school 40's barber look to it (see pic Wiccan provided)... But damn, it's gonna take me about 3-4 shaves to get used to how aggressive it is and figure out the right angle to shave. I think I'm in for a world of hurt razor-burn wise after this first shave.
All in all, amazing razor, but it seems to have STEEP learning curve at the cost of your blood/skin. It'll take time to figure out the proper way to shave with this razor, but that's to be expected with any new DE safety razor.
