im not sure if my really slow growth of mycelium is due to an inadequate temperature range, or if there wasnt that many spores in the syringe (it was really clear, could barely see any spores). SO my question to all you experienced growers out there is: what is the best temperature for brf jars to colonize the fastest? Is there any type of terrarium i should put them in thats heated, or is there any way to properly achieve the myceliums maximum growing rate? Please help out, its been 9 days and no sign of mycelium yet, and im starting to doubt it

just because there's no visible spores doesn't mean there isn't any ! the visible spores are just them clumping together.try incubating around 70-75,i keep mine up high while incubating and when they go into the fc i put em down low.just keep reading thats what everyones gonna tell you.and learn from your own experiences. and read your ass off !
use an incubator if you like. mostly if your jar contams in an incubator it was going to contam anyway.
since it's winter room temp is a relative term and can be as low as 60. if your home is like that then an incubator would work well. TiT. set to about 72 and your jars should stay around 74 as growing myc generates a degree or two of heat.
proper incubating is 70-75 or so but if you have to make an incubator or if its cold in your house and you need one to reach optimum fruiting conditions then search this site for tub in tub tek. really simple and cheap.
oh and btw... spores are microscopic.
