Can anyone tell me what species I have here and does the pup look normal? This one got damaged by possums, they will try to eat any type of plant! inski.

Looks like a T. scopulicola to me. Possibly with some pachanoi genetics too.
Lol, those possums would have got pranged! Haha, awesome.
That pup is normal, just coming out on an angle. What you are seeing is the bottom ribs of the pup. The rest should pop out in the next couple days depending on conditions.
Amazing pictures as always inski

Someone had given me this a while ago and it has been at the back of the garden for ages, I actually thought it was going to die, then I saw the pup the other day

Yes, I'm willing to wait:) I would love to grow some Lophophora species but I'm not sure about getting seeds here in New Zealand! How old is your peyote Juke? inski.

1cm = 1 year, is a good rough guide. you might achieve slightly better than that in your climate with the longer growing season, but i would say it is at least 5 years old

So I can look forward to seeing it grow 1cm to 1.4cm next season, no wonder cloning took off.

Your peyote can't be 3.5 years old, mine is about that old and it's tiny and probably became mature recently (It's the one in my avatar).
I'd say 6 years old at least for yours
