When you move up a bell you go through a lesser version of it again...I assume all of the way through Beast.
I Just finished a swing workout. I made 910 swings with the 28kg in 40 minutes. Sunflower made 800 with the 24kg.

Phew, just got finished with a GREAT TGU workout. Today I decided to shoot for 10 reps on each side (rather than worrying about how "long" I would be doing them). When I got to 10, I felt like I had a few more in me - and ended up pushing it to 15 per side. I had a stopwatch running throughout, but I wasn't looking at it.
3/8/09-
Warmup -3x5 halos w/ 24kg -3x10 squat w/ 24kg
TGU -15 reps each side w/ 16kg: 15min
Abs & Stretches cooldown
------------ Hooray! I finally reached the 15min checkpoint. I didn't expect for it to be that long - but I'm definitely not disappointed. I'm starting a temp job this week, and I think I'm going to spend most of my first paycheck on an afternoon w/ a RKC instructor so I can learn proper technique for the snatch and C&P before I start the ROP w/ the 16kg.
I'm excited!
edit: NICE SWING NUMBERS Hue & Sunflower. I can't wait till I'm that hardcore

Hey guys, I live in a hot spot for Yoga, and even though I have made great strides the past two years, my flexibility, especially in my lower body, is too low. I'm trying to put together a lifetime workout thing here, and I'm thinking that kettle balling and yoga or Pilates, along with bike riding, may just be it.
Do you all think that the two are compatible? I can't see why not.

They are. I do 30min of Wii Fit Yoga every day either before or after my workouts. It feels great.
Granted, the Wii Fit Yoga isn't that intense, but I just want a good stretch - and thats what Wii Fit Yoga gives me

Yoga is a good combo for kettlebells if you got the time.

I do yoga around once a week (hot yoga) and it is really nice to relax the muscles and relieve lots of tension built up during exercise. Its also a great core/balance workout as well as just plain great for all body systems. Furthermore, it just makes you feel so happy and relaxed afterward.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Hot yoga? Is that due to all of the women in spandex in class?

Amen to that - good thing I can still practice my C&P and Snatches on my off day
I got a better feel for the snatch last night. Threw up a couple reps using a "help" guide on youtube, it seemed to work out allright. I'll definitely be needing the help of the RKC to nail it though.

If you know an RKC and have money for it cool, but if you don't then don't feel like you have to drink all of the Koolaid. I have put up huge numbers of heavy snatches (530 @ 24kg) and I am self taught. Maybe my technique could be a little better, but if you can put up over 200 snatches without hand damage you are good enough. Just practice...and never until failure.

Yeah, there's a RKC near where I am, and a private session is only ~60. Kinda expensive - but I dont think it'll take much time to get this shit down. Certainly it would take hours upon hours to learn perfect form, but I don't want perfect form - just passable form.
I haven't scheduled a session or anything. If i end up getting better at the C&P/snatch in the next few weeks then I won't bother, but if I continue doing them as poorly as I am right now, I'll definitley need the session.

I have some questions about hands and grip. I find my hands are fine for swings, cleans, TGU, but for snatches I have some problems.
I have really sweaty hands, so starting a set of snatches, by the time I have done 10-15 my hands are pretty sweaty and I have to constantly wipe them to keep a good grip. If I try chalking my hands then I find I get too much grip and the handle wont rotate in my hand well. After a few sets of snatches I have just been using a hand towel to grip the kettlebell, it gives me a good grip and the bell rotates well in it.
What do you guys think, should I avoid things like that because my hands need to develop too? Do you guys use chalk, or have any recommendations?

Cannashroom, I'm going to let Hue & sunflower answer your question, since I haven't been able to snatch yet - and have no expertice to offer.
HOWEVER, I did just finish up a great swing session. Accomplishments of the day are listed below:
3/10/09
Warmup -3x7 Halos (24kg) -3x10 Squats (24kg)
Swings - 293 with the 16kg in 15minutes (30:30 interval).
Cooldown -Abs routine & lots of stretching.
It felt good to take the 30:30 out past the 12minutes today. I was ready to stop after the usual timeframe, but decided to push it further and go for 15. My form wasn't deteriorating, but my grip was gettin worn out. I was hoping to break 300, but being 7 shy isn't too bad
Probably be about two more weeks before I'm hittin 500 swings & 20min TGUs... TIME TO ENTER THE ROP

For snatches Hue uses just gymnasts chalk on his hands. I wear a pair of nearly worn out leather weight lifting gloves, tape on a few fingers and I also use chalk. I have never gotten my technique down to where I don't need protection. In the beginning my hands were like hamburger after every snatch session, so I started using all the protection...one of these days I will ween myself off (I swear...really)
