Hrm, 270 - that sounds about right. I don't feel TOO bad only being able to do 105 with the 16kg in my second week.
Typically how many sets do you get through in that 12min?

Twenty two per minute, the first couple of minutes we were doing 23.
When we first started I was swinging a 25 pound kettle bell and we couldn't even go the full 12 minutes. We just stuck with it. You are doing great, just keep going:))

You asked about sets, we start a new one each minute.

ooooh i see, you do one-minute sets, and then run inbetween sets.
I must have interpreted Pavel's program wrong when I was reading... I have been starting a stopwatch, doing swings to a comfortable stop, then running till i'm cooled down (usually 90-110 seconds), then swinging more, then running more, then swinging, then running - for 12 minutes TOTAL.
Looks like my workouts are about to get quite a bit harder (or, easier, now that I won't be trying to squeeze as many swings as I can into 12 minutes).

Do your swings at the top of the minute and rest for the remainder of the minute with active rest like jogging or walking...jump rope works too. We walk around for active rest.

I'm still a bit confused (bear with me).
So, you'll:
0:00 start swinging, do your 23. After you finish your 23 swings it's ~0:43, and then you'll walk around for the remaining :17 - and start the next swing set at 1:00?
Then at 1:00 you'll swing for 23 reps, until 1:43, then walk for :17 and start back up again at 2:00?
sorry i'm so confused, i'm usually pretty quick at picking things up.

ooooooh, I get it now.
Damn - that shit is going to wreck me. I feel like that's such a short recovery period. I'll have to start off with pretty low-rep sets or else I'll only make it through the first 4 minutes.

Well, i forgot to update this shit yesterday - so I'll throw it up now, and then come back later and edit the post to add in today's TGU workout that I've yet to do.
2/17/09 was my 14th day of the program minimum - and I was finally able to perform the manmakers right thanks to Hue & Sunflower's help.
I started swinging for the first 20" of the minute, and resting the remaining 40", but after the 6th minute I knew i wasn't going to be able to maintain that, so I dropped it down to 15"/45". Also, on the last minute I went the entire minute - kind of like the "sprint at the end of a jog" type thing.
All-in-all I got 126 swings in during the 12min. Not impressive by any means - but a good start.
Also tacked a bicep/abs workout on to the end of my daily routine, as usual, but went out and got wasted last night - so not feelign too hot today
---------Edit---------
Just finished Today (wednesday)'s workout, TGU day!
-Usual warmup of halos/squats/pumps -9min of TGUs -4x8 Chest press @ 160 -4x8 Trap shrugs @ unknown (weight setting 11? )
Successful day!

Sounds like you are doing great
My cardio focus seems to be working for me in taking off a few pounds. I have had another nice result too, I can actually do 5 military presses per side with the 16kg (which I could not do until this week)). I have continued with GTG so that I didn't loose all my strength in pressing. Anyway that has been a nice surprise.

I've been seeing people mention GTG on the other boards but I haven't done the research to figure out what it means yet - lol. Also, VO2 - I'm not sure what that is yet either, but I'm assuming it can be found in ETK? I have only read through the ROp section of hte book, so I figure i'll stumble upon it when i read further.
--------
Today was my Swing day, and I was able to do 130 in 12min with the 16kg. Since I moved in to my moms house and don't have the weight machine anymore, I threw in 4x5 chinups/pullups to my swing day to work a lil more on the biceps/back.
I'm still amazed every day how hard this shit works my heart. I was finished working out, showered, and in the car on my way to get dinner with my mom and I STILL felt like I was giong to vomit. What a fucking workout. LOVE IT.
