ah fack! I forgot to do joint mobility yesterday - i just lounged around all day and relaxed (whoooops!)
Today is another swings day, and I just finished eating breakfast.... should be another hour or two before I get into my workout.
I've been doing two-armed swings... I think i'm going to jump up to one-armed today

Welp, just finished my workout/meal of the afternoon.
Started the workout with my typical 10min of halos, pumps & squats... then went straight into one-armed swings. I had been doing two-armed groups of 30 for my "comfortable stop" inbetween the jogging, so I did groups of 15 for each arm.
Had a great lunch with some chicken, pasta, and broccoli.
Also, quick question for you guys: I want to work a little bit on my chest & a little bit on my biceps(since mine are particularly undeveloped) before the summer months come around. Would it be better to tack these exercises on to the end of my swing day, or my getup day? Or perhaps chest on swing days and biceps on the getup (or visa versa)?
let me know what you think

Today was Get-Up day, and it was a greeeeeat workout. Did the typical ~10min of halos/squats to get warmed up, then had a nice solid 8min TGU session.
I decided to throw in my chest exercise at the end of my TGU day, and it seemed to work pretty well. I could feel the shoulders straining a little bit during the press, but it was a good pain, not a bad pain.
Im about to go eat a nice london broil with some root vegetables for lunch - YUMMY.
Tomorrow is my rest day and I'll be trying out the joint mobility program you guys recommended.
mmmm progress feels good

We just changed our program today. Since the weather is getting nicer we are going to focus more on cardio and weight loss for the next six weeks. So we are upping our swings, snatches and club bell work and reducing our presses.
Are you keeping a journal of your workouts? It helps to be able to look back later and see what you were doing at certain times or to just see your progress in general.

That's probably a good idea - it is getting to be springtime... gotta get that beach body!
What is "club bell work"? Haven't heard the term mentioned before.
And yes, I'm keeping a journal - organization is the one thing I'm consistant with.

Here is an example of club bell work. It is more cardio based but you still get a muscle workout.

Nice!
Tomorrow will be a glorious rest day - perhaps i'll do some light abdominal work just to stay productive.
I had such a giant lunch today after my workout that I haven't been hungry since (1:00pm). I just stopped feeling uncomfortably full about an hour ago.

So, yesterday was a nice resting day - but I wasn't able to squeeze joint mobility in (i SWEAR i'll do it on my next rest day).
Today's swing day was more intense than usual. I ate a nice breakfast of 2eggs & some milk, and played Wii Fit for about 40 minutes (surprisingly worked up a little sweat).
Went up stairs and did 12minutes of Man Makers, doing 2-armed swings this time (I think i'm going to alternate between 2 & one-armed swings each swing day). Was able to get in 3 sets of 30. They feel good, and I can tell my form is improving (more burn in my legs), but I feel like my physical stamina isn't improving - but yes, i recognize i'm only on my 5th PM day.
After i finished the man makers, I went to my dads workout room and did some ab crunches & some bicep curls. 66lb resistance on the abs, 50lbs on the bicep curls, both exercises i did 4 sets of 8reps.
Nice cooldown stretches and a hot shower and now i'm about to go eat some chicken & veggies.
I feel so much better on-the-whole now that I'm working out daily and eating healthy. Although, last night I did splurge and ate like 12 mini-chicken-tacos. They were horribly horribly horribly unhealthy - but I think i burned off most of the 600 calories this morning.

Lol, no pressure to do joint mobility. It was just a suggestion. The main thing is keep going on those kettlebells.

I LOVE kettle bells, all I have is one 35 pounder and I can kick my ass in so many different ways with this.
My favorite movement is the clean and press, I feel so good afterward.
Right now I'm working on my get ups, I was shocked how hard this was the first time I did it, I thought ,"Yah I can press this thing just fine so getups should be no problem."
I have shoulders that are prone to get pulled out of socket a little and these exercises really help me build and strengthen my shoulders without hurting them. Presses with dumbells or barbells really fuck me up.
Right now my routine is; warm up with halos, full or half getups for a few minuets, clean and press with ten reps on each side until I cant safely press the thing any more, then finish of with swings. Works for me so far and I feel better after this then most other exercises, except maybe deadlifts.
Which reminds me.. Im going to work with my kettle bell right now.:D

I love this community...where else could you find discussions about hallucinogens, gourmet cooking, group therapy, and kettle-bell workouts all side by side?
My 35lb kettlebell is sitting in the corner neglected, but after reading this I'm starting to get the urge to start again. My problem is that I'm always moving, traveling, changing jobs, etc. My routine always gets interrupted. I think the time is coming to start again, with a journal, meal plans, etc. You guys are getting me motivated!

Hell yeah - motivation & inspiration is the main focus of this thread: since I have my own journal of my workouts at home, this thread is just here to inform & entertain those who are interested.
I woke up with a pretty sore lower back today - since I did a pretty hard workout yesterday. I think it's a mixture of that, and the shitty bed I'm currently sleeping on. Oh well
I'm looking forward to my TGU workout in a few hours (the TGU day is my favorite!), just gotta wait for my post-workout-meal chicken to thaw & marinade.

Just finished my workout, bout to go eat some chicken & veggies!
Had a nice extended warmup (15min instead of 10), then 8min of TGUs.
Threw in an extra set of chest presses today (going to bump the weight up next time around), and added a few sets of trap exercises (my traps are embarassing - i.e. nonexistant).
I feel GREAT! and look GREAT!
Also, sunshine, I've been getting on my family's Wii Fit and doing the Yoga exercises on there - talk about stretching! I thought yoga was fucking lame (due to the stereotypes), but that shit is the ultimate stretcher.
Looking forward to joint mobility tomorrow - I've been noticing that since I've been doing TGUs, I can't sleep in my normal position. I usually have one arm bent @ a 90 degree angle up above my head (sorta under the pillow), but since I've been doin TGUs its too strained/pressured, and I can't sleep comfortably.
Joint mobility FTW!

If you want to see some really strenuous yoga look up Prasara yoga. It is out of this world intense. I don't do it, but one day I may.

Today is supposed to be a swing day - but my body is extra-wrecked from an intense Wii Fit session yestereday (yeah, i know it was supposed to be my day off, but i wanted to try their "strength training" exercises.
I think i fucked up my arms doin the Wii Boxing a little too hard - they're sore today
So i think ill just relax & watch what i eat, and get back to the swings tomorrow.
However, i have been doing Wii Fit Yoga every morning - and the stretching feels GREAT.

I would still do some swings. You need to stick to your workout schedule until it becomes ingrained. It is so easy to slack off when you first start a routine. I would just force myself to do the swings if I were you.
I always feel so much better once I get going. Even if I start out feeling achy. Come on, its just 12 minutes and then you can relax.

Turns out I'm pretty sure i'm sick with something. I've had some stomach issues (see other thread in this forum) for the past few days, and today started a little achey, and got rediculously achey. I'm going to take some nyquil tonight, stay in for the next few days, and hope it clears quickly.
Don't worry - i won't abandon my regimen, i live at home now - i have nothing to do other than work out and apply for jobs.

Woke up feeling quite a bit better today, and forced myself to work out.
I've been doing 30 swings per set during my "man makers", and today I decided to up the ante' to 35/set. Needless to say - the mere presence of these extra 5 swings wrecked me. By the 3rd set, i was barely able to snap my hips & knees - and was only able to hammer out 3 sets throughout the 12min.
Speaking of which, sunflower & ATL (i forget your name on here), how many sets of swings do you typically get out during a 12min Manmaker session?
Thanks
