 JWH 0-18 false positive for weed... help!

hey, i smoked an herbal smoking blend suposedly containing jwh 0-18 (zohai rx) around 12:50 PM, and took a Home drug test around 3:00 PM, i tested positive for Marijuana, yet i have not smoked marijuana in months... if this stuff is setting off the drug test (wich im prety shur it is) how long am i gona be false positive for? i got a probation drug test it 3 days, and i CANT fail it. HELP!!

I thought about posting about JWH-018 the other day. But yeah, that shit is a synthetic cannibinoid that is an analogue to THC. THC is not what causes the positives in drug tests, but the metabolites from it being broken down in the brain as a byproduct. Knowing this it is understandable how similar substances will show up as marijuana. As long as you didn't smoke an obnoxious amount and don't smoke more, you should be clean ranging from two days to a week.
EDIT: Those devices are slowly becoming harder to come across since the heavy hand of uncle sam has been coming down on drug test cheats. The creators of the Whizzonator are being prosecuted as we speak. Bless their souls.

Interesting. I've been smoking Spice Diamond & similar products for a month or so now, after quitting MJ in November. I had read a number of posts from people who had said they consumed this product while simultaneously passing drug tests, and that it was a good alternative to MJ for the individual who has to deal with frequent tests.
This is a bit disturbing, perhaps tomorrow I'll purchase an at-home MJ test and see how I fare.

The research on the Spice products claiming it contains JWH-018 is hard to trace and no other scientists have yet confirmed it. However, I'm sure it has some sort of analogue to THC in it. As to how people pass drug tests with it, perhaps that particular analogue doesn't result in certain metabolites as it is broken down. I am only speculating.

I'd imagine the home test kit you got tested for abnormally high levels of cannabinoids because it's cheaper and easier to test for. Labs test for THC metabolites... I'd think you'll be fine.

But don't analogs of THC produce the same metabolites? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought I read somewhere that structurally it's pretty different from the THC molecule so I'm sure it could break down into something else.

Neg, each analogue produces structurally similar metabolites but not they're not all structurally identical. My guess is the cheap test tests for a certain (high) concentration of chemicals with a cannabinoid "backbone." You'd probably have better luck asking that kind of question in the Chemistry and Pharmacology forum. I'm a little rusty on my chem/biochem.

Don't smoke anymore before your test. You smoked a lot of it in a short period of time didn't you? I smoked zohai and similar blends to get around drug tests while I was on probation and was in contact with a lot of people in the same situation. The only people who every got false positives were the ones smoking a gram or more a day. If this is you don't smoke anymore before your test and drink a bunch of water right before hand to dilute your urine.

Ive actually smoked a joint of Spice Diamond about 3 days ago. Today im gonna go buy a drug test from Walmart and Ill let you all know the results. For the sake of Science and those getting drug tests it should be known if JWH 0-18 has the potential to cause false positives!
(On that note does anyone know the CHEAPEST place to buy them? CVS sell's them for $16 and thats the cheapest ive seen. Any ideas?)

Ok.....The test is going as we speak! We shall have our answer in 5 min. Keep in mind that i just woke up, have had NO water for over 8 hours, so this should be pretty accurate

i had been smoking alot of the stuff, but i had a 2 day wait cuz of mail problems, then used the zohai blend about 4 hits. it got me particularly baked so i got a 40$ home drop and droped positive for marijuana, im not gona smoke at all today and then teset myself at tontie or tomorow morning, im thinking sence i droped within hours of taking the stuff it may have caused the false positive, hopefuly that is the case and i will b clean for my next home drop.

Dude go to Walmart like I did... I picked up a First step Marijuana test for 10 bucks!

Maybe its all the tea i drink fellas  But I smoked a joint of "Spice Diamond" (Including smoking everyday a week before hand), and I passed the drug test! The results came back negative so im good to go!
As for your test man, if you still come up positive drink LOTS of tea. Water helps flush out your system and Caffeine will stimulate your metabolism. You should also take creatine prior to your drug test and on the day of it.....take a B-complex vitamin. This will make sure no matter how much water your drink, your piss wont look clear (Hope this helps)

precisely my thinking. There is nothing anyone can do to you because you have not committed a crime. If THC is showing up then the makers of spice will be going to prison, and I'm sure you could sue.
