Three Arrested After Police Find Drugs & Mushroom Lab
January 5, 2009 - News25
 EVANSVILLE - If you're growing illegal mushrooms in your apartment, you may want to keep the noise down.
Noise complaints lead Evansville Police to a north side apartment just before 1:00 AM Sunday.
Police report smelling marijuana when they got there, and after getting permission to look around they found prescription drugs, marijuana, meth and syringes. Officers said they also found a mushroom grow lab in a closet.
Police arrested (pictured left to right) Ricky Adams, Richard Stamey, and David Stilwell and charged the three with drug possession.

There are about 5 cop cars at my neighbors house right now. I bet they are going to uncover a nice stash of methamp any minute. He's been tweaked out of his mind for a while now. I'm not going to have a neighbor for a while..

I'm not going to defend the other to junkies but the kid in the center of the pics is a family friend. A good kid hanging out with the wrong crowd. I do agree that the pills, the meth and the syringes are very bad news but the grass and fungi that's nature. Why can't we help nature along? He didn't live at the apartment, just hanging out. Anyone on this site has no room to talk or make fun. You're on this site for a reason. This is a drug related site where your community talks about and trades ideas, merchandise (spore, pot seeds, whatever...)I've grown it all. In the past I have my day with this shit and I decided to grow up and get married. I read these comments and agree that yeah these are some dumb ass little kids trying to make a buck or support a habit but probably 90% of the members on this site have probably been in trouble with the law (like me) or you're doing the same thing these kids were doing, if not, you are lucky! Stick to the natural stuff and fuck the man made crap that's made in someones bathtub somewhere. I by no means am trying to get a battle of words going. Just stating an opinion. If your going to do it, GET A HOUSE WHERE YOU HAVE NO NEIGHBORS. DO IT RIGHT NEXT TIME!

Meth users and deadlers do not deserve jail any more than pot users and dealers deserve jail, or cigarette users or dealers.

They probably didn't know that they had a choice. The police knock loud and angry and people think they better open up. Never a wise move, of course.

The smell of marijuana is probable cause, however probable cause does not allow the police to break into your apartment. They need a warrant for that. They can get a warrant with probable cause however there is a good chance that they would not have bothered to wake up a judge for a noise complaint and a funny odor. Its also likely that a judge would not sign a warrant based on nothing more than a smell, especially since it can be tricky to prove exactly where the smell came from.

I don't think its fair to judge people based on which chemicals they enjoy. Some people can use meth responsibly while others use it foolishly. Some meth users break into cars to get money for more (a prohibition related crime, not a drug related crime), others debug ridiculously intricate computer code for 36 hours straight.
Some of the smartest people I know are non-problematic and/or former meth users.
Also remember that doctors proscribe pure methamphetamine pills for several conditions, I don't think it is fair to call those people dumbasses because they use meth.

Probably because to be considered a "methhead", you have to be in dire straits already; few people would call a successful meth user a "methhead" just like few would call a successful alcoholic a "wino".
