these were found in Southwest Florida on December 15, 2008 growing from dung one day after we had a little rain.. :

  temperatures were at around 80ºF in the day and around 60ºF at night, with a relative humidity at around 70-80%.
these are always potent

~~~~~~~~ update ~~~ :
hey, just wanted to update everyone one this find. Panaeolus Cyanescens (blue meanie's) found on December 17, 2008 in Southwest Florida growing from dung. The weather conditions were basically the same as mentioned above...
heres some pics to compare Cubensis to Cyanescens....
Nice finds and in December - heck yes!!! I went out hunting this past Saturday the 14th in Central Florida and it was great exercise, the cool air felt like A/C and there were a variety of mushies all over. I found a total of 3 cubes and 6 or 7 copes. I will be posting a report this week at some point. My camera is at home at the moment. I didn't find that many but yeah it is mid December!
nice pics. looks like you hunt somewhere with very sandy soils... nice for cube and cope growth. I have better luck here in tx in places with sandy soils.
thumbup: these were found in SW Florida December 24, 2008 growing from dung.
2 of them are definitely copes. I picked some 12/24 as well and 4 of them did the trick. However, a couple that I picked looked alot like the other 2 mushrooms in the bunch. They were a little more brown with the cap more curved down. Look at these 2 copes that I took with what I kind of questioned could be a cope or some other kind of panaleous. I'm pretty sure they are all copes (mine and yours) however I questioned a couple that look like the one growing shown here....
anyone else have any thoughts/ideas about this?
I know the 4 that I bioassayed yesterday were def. copes.
 didn't have any rye berries or money,, so I made a mix of millet, rye grass seed, little straw, dung, gypsum, and water. i'm going to spawn this to some straight grains when I buy some.,,/ (no where in my town EVER has rye berries in stock...)
Those are awesome pictures. I love Florida, its so warm it seems these things can grow year round lol. I'm in Cape Coral and there isnt anything here, we used to have a couple of cow fields but they are all but gone. Fort Myers has some but my friend who knew where they were got locked up so I havent had anything since july
Next time we get some rain I'm about to go into ******* ranch and see what they have got, but I have heard that you can get shot for trespassing back there.
Your thread has given me hope that I can find something around this place soon and not have to wait for rainy season
Nice finds bro...I think he's in S. Florida - so he should be fine...our coldest morning of the season looks to be this Friday with a low of about 34 degreesF. Looks like we will make it without a freeze, yet again!
