i believe that is inaccurate i know i took this survey a couple years back and my answers would be way different now. when i took this i didn't even know what pan cyans were, now i love em. My largest dose when i took this was 4.5 g dried cubensis, now it's 24 g dried cubensis. When i answered this i'd been in the game less than 5 years, now i'm past that mark and have tripped far more times. my average dose, recommended wait between experiences, etc all has changed...
We can't revote even if things change. If this were a poll where we could update our personal stats, it would be far more accurate.
it's great for novelty purpose but i think as a scientific experiment and an accurate collection of data it lacks a lot. it probably was more accurate when WS originally posted it seeing as all the vets eventually got around to inputing into this survey, but over time faces have changed and most people that are able to add to it are newer to the psychedelic experience or at least newer to the further depths of it.
for it's initial use of a first timer to figure out a good dose, but i'd like to see something where we can see the trends in the mushroom loving community. it'd be interesting to see what happens time to time with a regularly taken survey amongst the active membership. How many new people voted in the latest poll that hadn't before, how many didn't that did last time, what % came back again to vote, how the collective community changes from season to season, even region to region, as far as dosage, methods of ingestion, types of mushroom, general reaction to the psychedelic experience at this point in life, etc.. a regular survey exactly like this one with something to chart it out based on various categories would be a fairly large task, but i think if someone did it it'd be an amazing piece of scientific research, extremely valuable in learning truths about ourselves as a collective as well as a far more accurate guide to SHROOM SECRETS.
there's some smart people around here maybe someone will throw something together like this at some point, maybe i'm just stoned.
anyway enough ranting for me...

anally taking mushrooms is quite common actually. I'm sorry it disturbs you but you need to open yourself to the fact that it's something that is done. in fact anally taking medication is quite often used by doctors, ever hear of a suppository... means you plug it up your butt.
use the search engine or google and you will see that there is quite a history to anally ingesting drugs, namely E and shrooms. it has nothing to do with creativity, it has to do with how fast and how hard it hits you, it has to do with the science of drugs and their interactions with the body. See, no creativity involved sir.

Odd. I've never met a person who's tripped before and hasn't told me "There's nothing like a bright sunny day on mushrooms." But there's also the dark huh.
I spent hours with my eyes shut once, almost an entire trip. I was on two eighths of shrooms, which is double my normal dose and the most I've taken; I wanted to see how it would feel to be a schizophrenic cave man or something, just go totally out of my head. I was watching SpongeBob when they kicked in, and I got double vision, no cool visuals but straight up I couldn't see straight. OK. Then I got nauseous, like I always do at first and that's fine. But then, thinking this double vision might compound it and really make me tragically vomit, I left the room, belly-flopped onto a bed, and shut my eyes. Long story short, I felt like a knuckle being cracked every time I moved a muscle. My eyeballs felt like the globes you'd see at the circus with motorcycle stunt riders zipping around the inside of them. Then my skull felt that way. If I opened my eyes, I saw double, so I kept them shut and rolled and writhed around on that bed, generating some sort of electric ripple with each muscle flexion and steering the motorcycles with my mind. It felt awesome, but before I knew it I was coming down. That was all I did. Seeking out other things to do, like with the friends I invited to my summer house to trip with, never ever crossed my mind. I don't know if I could have left that bed if I tried though. A full day later, I stood next to it and could not for the life of me figure out how to make the bed. I'd pick up the corner of a sheet and then wonder where to start, what to do with it. I couldn't do it. It had a hold on me still.
That was a weird one. Hands down, it was the best body high I've ever had (and I've had that same knuckle-crack sensation on every trip since even), but there was nothing else to it. Kind of a let down. That occured to me as I was coming down and damn did that get me depressed. Yes. Those mushrooms kicked my ass.

i dont know scientific names so could only put down gold capes becouse u gave it to me in the post but i have taken liberty caps to... not a big deal but if thiers more people like me it could be effecting the resoults

good post got love to know what other people are tripping on and how. everyone should trip and let the mushrooms take a hold. you dont need much as long as you believe in them. so kick back and enjoy the ride. b/c if you dont let them do what they "the mushrooms" want to do then well you might not have a enjoyable time. along with a little mind expansion which is always good. tripping to me is like adding a addition on to your house when you need to do it you eat em' up if you dont no worries. there is always next time. the wait sucks tho

I whole-heartedly agree with you Wiccan, regarding the dosage. Even miniscule amounts of mushrooms (anything under a gram) has been able to knock down mental barriers and allow my spiritual self to pour in. I was at a friends house, and there was a whole bunch of mushies going around. I didn't have money at the time, so I asked a buddy for a tiny pinch. He told me "Dude, thats not really gonna do anything to you." I thought differently. I ate the small pinch (it was dried mushie dust, and a little crusty cap, couldn't have been more than .3 grams) and hit the road. While I was driving, I began to lose my inner dialogue that you experience day to day, and began enjoying my drive. Usually driving on that side of town put me in bad spirits, but I was experiencing everything REALtime, instead of unconciously absorbing my surroundings and projecting my conciousness into the future (ie: what should I do when I get home? watch tv? clean the room?etc etc) When I got home, I laid down, smoked a joint, and began to relive my life from birth. I saw family members, dead and alive, but I viewed them all as alive, for the mushrooms removed the veil of physical being, and showed true spiritual unity, and infinite life. All this insight off of mushroom leftovers, what a deal

The last thing I would want during an intense mushroom trip is loose booty. LoL Just my opinion, I'd rather live with munchin' em up, or powdering them into caps. Once all the psilo's and baeocystin is absorbed by rectal tissue, where does the left over product (fruting body: mushroom) go? My guess, your underpants, full of booty juice.

Interesting post.
Beege: Having done paneolus cyanescens, how would you compare them to cubies? A friend of mine has been considering giving them a shot. I know they have less alkaloids than cubies, but I have heard some people describe them as a smooth trip. What do you think?
As far as tucking some shrooms in your sphincter, I am sure it works. I have done E anally. It kicks in twice as fast as swallowing it. Shrooms probably aren't much different.

I'm not sure what you mean by less alkaloids, by weight panaeolus cyanescens contains more psilocin than Psilocybe cubensis.
I don't have that much experience with cubes, I've only found them a few times and only really tripped on them once.
And since every trip is different it's hard to compare two of them even if the same species was used.

You are correct about every trip being different. People who have sampled several different species however will tell you that some species have a specific quality to them. I have read a few different articles and books on Psilocybin mushrooms which rank Paneolus cyanescens at the same level with p. cyanofibrillosa, which contains an average of .25% dried weight of alkaloids. This may not be true, I don't have experience with p.cyanescens. I am looking for your advice, I am not trying to be critical. If you were to tell me that the trip was awesome, it would be reason enough for me to give it a try. I am just stating "facts" that I have come across. I mainly focus on cubies. I am attempting a P. azurescens patch outdoors. We will see how that goes. Do you consider paneolus cyanescens fairly easy to cultivate?
