I read that if you try turning on lights or switching on the tv in dreams they never work, that's usually a trigger to become lucid. If you look into a mirror the reflection is usually just a blurry figure, that could be another one.
I've never gotten a chance to try this, all my lucid dreams start as sleep paralysis. Hope this helps someone.

I've never gotten that far in lucid dreams. I'm usually placed in a familiar situation but then I realize that I'm still sleeping. After the realization I can control the dream a bit before I wake up.

Like I said before, it happens in rapid fire succession when I'm drifting in and out of sleep. Very frustrating shit, but sometimes I exit the experience with a smile on my face.

I experienced my first lucid dream a few weeks ago.
It blew my mind.

It's quite an intense experience isn't it. I experienced my first one about 4 years ago and they still blow my mind every time. I guess it's because they are so scattered and random. I never know when one will happen. When it does it leaves me saying 'WTF'!

It is.
I've only had one but I had such a crazy feeling after waking up from it.
It was most awesome.

It's one of those things where you wake up with a head full of adrenaline and fight for the next 5 minutes to comprehend what just happened.

Scary at the moment, but when you look back on it you feel that it's quite an awesome thing.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

I had my first in a while today.  Whenever I take naps in my dreams I can barely control my body and can't keep my eyes open and just stumble about (weird huh) but I learned to recognize the pattern.  I tried to take control but it wasn't easy, I just ended up jumping off the moon and soaring to the earth (which was amazing).  It was cool and all but I really wanted to fuck a really hot girl.  I don't know why I wasn't able to conjur that up.  I guess practice makes perfect :lol:

Lucid dreaming is the coolest. Once you realize what you are doing and start to control the dream it is awesome. For me it usually starts off very clear and vivid and slowly as the dream goes on things start to fade more and more until I get this slight shift feeling and then that's the cue that I know I am starting to wake up. It is very hard to fight it and stay in the dream, but it is possible to stay in it. When you start to feel the dream fading just try to engage the dream more, sometimes that works and it can also lead to discovering new lucid dream abilities.
On a side note, after I stopped smoking weed a while back, my lucid dreams became much more intense and controllable. Now that I am smoking again dreaming just isn't as good, still cool though.

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to selfishness;
From selfishness to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

Maybe your mind at that point isn't affected by mating instincts, and was just going off on its own thing... I think the brain's weird like that.

If you want to enduce lucid dreams, the best way is to write the letter "A" on your palm in real life. In your dreams, you won't have a letter "A" and you will know its a dream.

If you don't "get that far" in your dreams, the best way to fix that is to keep a dream journal. As soon as you wake up (especially if you wake up because of a dream) write down everything you can recall about the dream. This will create a 'link' between your conscious and subconscious allowing you to remember and better interface with your dreams.
