Dobie-
If I could only tell you the paralysis that occurs for me when ingesting azures or cyans. I recently ate 3.1 g cubes, 1.5 g azures, and .5 g cyans.
I collapsed in the middle of a field. I couldn't walk 5 blocks. My co-tripper couldn't smile the next day. I have experience many muscular problems on these two spieces. They effect these muscle parts/groups: eye, facial, esophageal, hand and leg. These effects are due to the species. I have never had similar effects on cubes. Read this: A play by play trip on 7 grams Azures!!!!
While that particular trip was an extreme dose, I have still noticed the effects on much smaller doses as well. That just happens to be the only trip on azures that I have recorded.

9 of 10 extended forcast days call for a possibility of rain. Temps are in the right range. We should be seeing some very prolific azurescen flushes w/i the next 2 weeks!!!

I don't think it has anything to do w/ the leaching of calcium. I would go for some sort of competitive inhibition mechanism, but really have no idea.
I have not seen any literature suggesting the leaching of Ca+ from the body due to the presence of psilocin/psilocybin. I have dosed on extremely high doses of P. cubensis w/o even a hint of the same feelings I get from azurescens or cyanescens.
The condition Nomad speaks of may be different than the paralysis I am speaking of.

so, it must be the high(er) baeocystin content of the woodlovers, or what? sounds like this "syndrome" is caused by woodlovers as opposed to dunglovers. any reports on this occurring with pan cyans? other actives? again, what about woodlovers from other geographical areas?

I don't think it is the baeocystin. semilanceata have a high level of baeo in them, I have not felt anything similar on my liberty cap trips.

My friend and I who both ate fresh ps. baeostycis felt that before the come on of the actual mushroom trip - we both felt like sleeping and very dozy and muscle tiredness - now that you mention it, just like the feeling i get after eating a fat load of turkey.
(or maybe I'm combining 2 threads in my head here and replying half to both of them) but I did read the thread...maybe it was in the history of the weiliii one they were talking about tryptophan being in turkey and weiliis.. ah well I dont know.
ahah with a grain of salt. peace.

There is a big difference between what you describe and what we are speaking of. The feelings I get are to be described as paralysis. After the main peak in the trip I find my muscles do not respond as well to my control. Eventually I have colapsed from not being able to control my muscles. This affects different muscle groups. I have experienced the inability to walk, hold objects, focus my eyes, to drink, to smile, or to swallow water proficiently.

hum, so that would seem to rule out baeocystin. what then? does this appear to happen for both azures and psy yans in the same way/intensity? has this been reported only from specimens collected in the PCN? what about this happening from psy cyans say from california? again, i want to know if this occurs also from domesticated specimens grown elsewhere (e.g. austria ). anyway, this is an extremely interesting topic. joshua, could this information be organized in a separate thread? or in whatever way to allow us to collect as many reports and information as possible. also, is this the sort of "scary thing" on which people should be fully informed? i remember stamets mentioning it. is there more precise information out there?

for tha record..i've done loads of liberty's and never experienced anything remotely like this, physicaly...so i don't think it's the baeocystin either...what else do these baby's contain that other psyliz' don't?..we seem to have reports of this happening from two people so far (at least on this thread)..has anyone else experienced this with azures?..

ok since i brought the idea of baeocystin in to play here, i must confess that upon further research i see that semilanceata has similar levels. Further if it were baeocystin, i believe that the it would be perceived more with semis than less because people would be eating greater weights due to its lesser overall activity levels. So??? It seems that we are talking about mussle twiching to total paralissis? I revere and respects azurs although i have tried eating them at very low doses on a daily basis and have had very good results. But i did also notice an eye twich at the same time period, however i do not necessarily associate it with the mushies. Eye twiching can happen to anyone at any time and it is totally normal. So I think it is really something associated with injesting at higher dosage levels and if the other input to this thread is accurate, then it must be species specific to a degree. BUT, i do not know anything about ca deficiency and have not done any background check on that thread. It sounds plausable if there is research to back it up... BEEN WATCHING THE WEATHER !!!!! laaadedaaa yummy...................... paciently here i sit and wait and then .......

girlfriend just ate 3.5 g's of libs and experienced paralysis of limbs and body, like she couldnt move at all. With baeos I feel more like my lungs/diaphragm are less effective, but limbs are fine.
